Knockout winced as his pointed servos traced the nasty dent in his chassis. Injuries were commonplace in war, but that didn’t make them any less unpleasant. 

He ex-vented slowly, lifting himself to perch on the side of the examination table, and offered a cursory glance at the ice bin.

Frag, he didn’t even know what he was saying anymore. 

He loved Breakdown too, of course, the only thing keeping him from mentioning it was fear.

How do you feel About Breakdown????

I never really got to know the bot! I heard all the stories about him and Bulk while I was reading the wreckers archives, but I didn’t meet the bot, myself. I only saw an empty husk of him, you know? But also, what happened to his optic? None of the archives I read mentioned him only having one.

…

I bet I probably could’ve been friends with him. Even if Bulk would’ve hated it.

He felt his spark skip. Primus..He looked so amazing when he worked. Breakdown shook his head at his thoughts and turned to finish his own work, or at the very most attempt to.

"Are you single by any chance?" ( buffing-and-roughing )

He turns to look at his assistant with a confused gaze, why was him being single so important? Breakdown worked with him enough to at least have an inkling that the doctor was in fact single. 

Then again, maybe him rejecting everyone's inquiry was enough to make the bigger bot curious. 

But whatever, he didn’t mind Breakdown knowing his little secret. This was his job, not his personal life.

“I am but best not to let the others know, there's more to me than looks, Breakdown.”

And with that, he turns around, determined to finish his energon in peace before the next patient to come through the doors. What did him being single even matter? It’s not like any of them could have a stable…anything in this time of war. 

Although Earth would be a beautiful place to roam with a partner, but for now he just settled with small dreams and a barely comfy job.

Not like he had much of a choice if he was honest.
