idc if wonwoo, dk, and vernon didn't know it was racist (they definitely did and if you don't think so you need therapy<3), in which fucking universe is it ok to literally sing about indian food being so smelly that if two people ate it one wouldn't realize the other was dead??? are you seeing this??? they're literally associating the SMELL OF A CORPSE WITH INDIAN FOOD. god i know you guys think indians are stinky and gross and every time you order indian food you have to burn the house down to get rid of the smell 🤪 but this is a new fucking low and i don't care how old the song is i don't care that seventeen didn't write it. it's 2020 and they chose to sing it I'm done I'm fucking done.
i know non desi carats will defend it saying some shit like oh no but seventeen is so unproblematic they've been so respectful in the past but hear me: I DON'T GIVE A SINGLE SHIT. when you grow up ostracized and bullied because of the smell of your food and because of your body hair and skin color and see every race on earth using your culture as a costume while rejecting you as a person it's very hard to be tolerant :).
if you support seventeen after this please unfollow or block me I don't want to associate with you and your racism<3
here are the lyrics in case it was unclear :)

im really angry right now. i cant believe that idols are STILL doing shit like this. not only is there no excuse anymore about this kind of behaviour, but you would think that the gose editors would think twice before keeping something like that in the episode.
this has happened multiple times before. and it will continue to happen until ppl stop blindly defending their idols or staying silent when shit like this happens.
south asians face so much bullshit. we aren't even considered asians to the majority of non-asians and even most asians. people love our food and our colourful cultures but then think it's funny to imitate "indian dancing" and don't think twice about making fun of our culture. people see south asian countries as these poor, underdeveloped, unsanitary places, and the most they know about life in a place like india is "acid attacks" and "the elephant god" - even that is a stretch. hell, people don't even know the names of most south asian countries, and think that all of it is just a part of india.
it's not okay. racism within and across poc communities is a HUGE issue, and svt further proved that today. a group whose members enjoyed indian food when they were on tour in america, but proceeded to laugh at a song that is offensive to indians.

if you are non-indian and you are uncomfortable reading this, imagine how we feel. even if you are indian and you're reading this, think about how ridiculous it is that people still find smth like this acceptable.
hopefully, at this point, you want to do something about this. as @scoupsy mentioned in their post about this issue, @/ha_yeol_summer on twitter created a template in korean that you can post on weverse / email to pledis at [email protected] to ask the editors to cut the part out of the episode + for an apology. it’s also written politely so there’s no misunderstanding:
지금 오늘 고잉세븐틴에서 부른 카레 노래는 인도에 대해 인종차별적인 노래라고 합니다. 이 노래를 부른 부분을 편집하고 이번 일을 계기로 원우와 세븐틴 멤버들이 한 번 더 배움을 가지면 좋겠다고 하시고 계세요.
인도에 대한 부정적인 고정관념을 포함하고 있다고 외국 팬분들께서 빠른 시간 내로 조치가 취해졌으면 한다네요.
here is another translation made by @/kw0nsoonyounged on twitter (the translation is originally made by a carat on weverse)
please don't fight people on why this is wrong. even if you're indian and you're not personally bothered, send the email to pledis and post on weverse. i am sick and tired of idols being complicit with racism and if any of you want to tell me that this isn't racism, don't. just hardblock me. this is far past a debate.

svt are so funny... remember that time they were playing mafia and hoshi literally admitted to being a mafia and they were like hmmm.... let’s vote out mingyu!! and then they were surprised when he wasn’t a mafia
