Darcy bounced excitedly on her toes as the Asgardians exited the battered spaceship, Thor and Loki in the lead, closely followed by Bruce Banner and a woman who definitely wasn’t Sif. Beside her, Jane swore softly under her breath as she realised the extent of Thor’s injuries.

“It’s okay, Jane,” Darcy whispered. “At least they’re alive, right?”

Jane nodded silently, watching King T’Challa and Captain America welcome the refugees.

She and Jane had both been surprised when they received the summons to Wakanda. There’d been no explanation, just the request from the King himself and a waiting airplane.

Jane said it was rude to turn down royalty so off they went and here they were. They’d landed mere minutes before the spaceship and had been herded into the waiting area by several very ferocious looking women before being left to themselves.

“Why are we here, anyway?” Darcy asked. “Why is Captain America here? Where even is here? What’s going on?”

“He’s not Captain America anymore, Darcy and I don’t-”

“Doctor Foster? Miss Lewis?”

They both turned around.

Rules/Guidelines:

To participate in this fest you must be willing to produce a piece of fic or art as a gift for another participant. When you sign-up you are committing to do this.

This is a Darcy/Steve fest, so Darcy/Steve should be front and center (although secondary characters and parings are allowed) and should be shaped around the winter holidays or the winter season.

Fic should be a minimum 700 words in length, but you can go longer if you’d like. Fic should be beta read and complete at the time of posting.

Art can include traditional art, digital art, fan videos, fanmixes, and podfics. Videos should be at least one minute in length. Fanmixes must include cover art and at least ten songs. All art should be complete at the time of posting.

All ratings are allowed and AU is acceptable.

Writers and authors of all ages are welcome to participate, but I ask that you write/drawn an appropriate rating if you’re younger than 18 and vice versa if your recipient is under 18 please do not write/draw any piece of work with a high-ratings.

All gifts must be original and done specifically for this community and its participants. All work must be your own.

Please look over your assignment carefully upon receiving it and be sure to pay attention to the requests and squicks. If you feel that for any reason you cannot complete your assignment and/or wish to be given a different assignment please contact me asap so I can work something out.

This fest is not anonymous, but it would be cool if you could keep secret which fic/artwork is yours to keep the element of surprise!

Posting your completed assignment

You may post your fic/art at anytime within the posting dates. Although I would prefer posts to be on Archive of Our Own, you can post on any medium you are comfortable with. If you choose not to post on AO3, please inform me so I can post a link to your work on tumblr.

Extensions and Drop Outs

Posting will begin December 24 and end on January 1. I know the holidays are a super busy time and I understand if you can’t get your fic/art in strictly on time. If you need an extension, please let me know. Otherwise, if you must drop out, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can find a pinch hitter for your recipient.

I seriously hate asking for help again...

I spent Monday night and part of yesterday in the hospital.  Still not entirely sure what the cause was, but the doctor said it was bad vertigo. I had all the scans and such, so we know it isn’t a tumor, but that’s all we know. I was so sick on Monday, I threw up so much I burst a blood vessel in my eye.  :/. I fell down in the shower after assuring the nurse I wouldn’t fall down in the shower, and now I have a huge bruise on my thigh and a bigger one to my ego.  :/ :/ I’m still dizzy and nauseated and until I can get those things under control, I can’t do stuff alone.  It’s a stupidly hard lesson to learn, unfortunately.  And Andre’s had to miss a lot of work. Gonna have to miss more before this is over, I’m afraid.  And it’s because of that, that I’m asking for help again. He won’t lose his job because of the time lost, because we’ve got well-documented doctor’s visits and such, but he’s not getting paid for days he’s not at work. I hate doing it, because I know that I won’t be able to repay any of the help any time soon. It’s hard to sit upright, so I can’t really write anything until the dizziness/vertigo clears up.

But if you have anything to spare, we would again be truly grateful. 

He’s already lost about $300 of income due to having to stay home/at the hospital with me.  And it’s $300 we unfortunately need desperately, especially with all these copays.
