Journey to Babel is such a wild episode for Bones as well as Spock imagine you unexpectedly meet your first officer's parents and you think you're in for fun and juicy family lore (why he's estranged from his father, the teddy bear he loved, all the good stuff) but then his dad needs heart surgery while the ship is in a crisis and the captain is still recovering from HIS recent operation. And Spock is the only suitable blood donor but he's also incredibly stubborn so you have to pretend the captain is fit for duty just to convince him to leave the bridge and help save his own father's life??

So before you know it you're doing life saving surgery while the ship is under attack and Spock keeps interrupting still trying to save it. On top of that your best friend and the captain has decided to stay in command even though you agreed he'd leave once Spock was in sickbay. But you've got an operation to finish, so you finish it. Just doing your job. Another day on the enterprise, right?

And even after all this, when somehow, miraculously, everyone comes out OK, Spock and his father are the same as ever and Jim and Spock are STILL both trying to go back to work right after surgery. Unbelievable. No wonder he enjoyed having the last word and keeping them there so much.

We live in the dumbest, lamest cyberpunk dystopia possible.

So LA has been — and continues to — protest against ICE. These protests haven’t gotten any smaller or lost any momentum, but social media wasn’t reflecting it.

TikTok users, realizing that the platform/other social media are censoring/deleting/shadowbanning these protest videos, decided to find a workaround.

They’re calling it the LA Music Festival. Ice detention centers and other protest locations are “stages.” The hottest band is Rage Against the Machine. “Here’s what gear you should be bringing to stay safe at the LA Music Festival.”

And it fucking worked.

TikTok has become a proving ground for a lot of new music, meaning lots of labels and organizations have lucrative deals with TikTok to promote their new artists and music festivals. So they absolutely cannot censor the words “music festival” or train the algorithm to ignore it, or they risk endangering that very important revenue.

So now protest videos are flooding feeds again, but it’s the LA 24/7 Music Festival. Truly an incredible timeline we’ve landed in.

i need pepple to understand that in the first place leather has always been made from the byproducts of butchering animals for meat, otherwise the skin is just tossed and unused. there were some companies farming for leather for a while, particuarly alligator leather, but those were not the norm. peta did so much harm in their campaigns against leather as a concept (its not unethical. yoi get the skin when an animal dies. thats why most leather clothes in the usa are cow leather, bc thats the biggest meat animal here) that its almost impossible to buy anything "leather" that isnt made of plastic that it so fragile and shitty that the very Thread Holding It Together rips the fibers apart. it will last for maybe a year two if youre lucky, and wont biodegrade and was made out of something that isnt naturally occurring in the first place and is one of the biggest causes of pollution globally
