Due to the ongoing global pandemic there has been huge growth in the On-Demand delivery apps market with over half a billion new downloads since March 2020 across the world , according to a research.

An analysis on delivery download trends on Google play store unveil the scale of shift towards On-Demand Delivery apps during the Pandemic.

UberEats is leading the global market with 44 Million Downloads and is followed by other giants in the market ,FoodPanda( 31.8 million downloads) , iFood (20.8 million downloads) and Zomato with 19.2 million downloads. Other Top performing apps in Europe include JustEat in the UK with 2.2 million downloads and Lieferando in Germany with 2.1 million downloads. Gorillas on the other hand heads the rising new wave of grocery startups with around 165k downloads globally.

There have been 550,826,378 new downloads for On-Demand food and drinks apps Since March 2020 to April 2021 which is 33% year on year increase.The total number of consumers using on demand delivery apps is undoubtedly higher if IOS and web users are taken into consideration.

As suggested by the growth rates , it can be concluded that On-Demand delivery apps are on the rise and what is left to see is that as we return to the pre 2020 conditions , if the consumer behavior has changed permanently which could mean the end of huge traditional brick and mortar stores whose place will be taken by the fast and convenient on demand delivery apps.
