MASSIVE Roof Windows for Campervan! / DIY Conversion (Ep. 9)
I’ve been following Margaret and Ladi for a year now. I just love them! Though I don’t plan to build a van, their attention to detail and design is inspiring for my tiny house build!
Take a look.

The Plans
I have been following the tiny house movement for 10 years, and follow a couple of YouTube channels that show off the lifestyle.
The popular channel Living Big in a Tiny House has been an important one in showing a wide variety of designs and how people live in the spaces. They boast an overly-friendly tall Kiwi man who tours tiny houses and alternative structure all over the world.
Flashforward to June, Pandemic 2020 and this game-changing design comes out from Shaye’s Tiny Homes, and it was a total catapult. I think the pandemic had this affect on me to think about how to be self sufficient and build a resilient future. This tiny house tour had my jaw hinged open for 20 minutes and my plans launched.
I bought a notepad, bought the pans, and began drawing and writing and thinking about every little thing or as much as I could squeeze out of my brain.
I have a really stressful job, so that idea launched and sat for a while. Now I am at the point where I can think about hiring and architect and buckling down into a new living situation to save money!
Started researching architects today. More details to come.

Back Where it all Started
I didn’t choose the tumblr life, it chose me.
In 2010 when I was a freshman in college I used stumble upon and tumblr to pass the time on my fresh MacBook that the university gave every student.
I stumbled upon Jay Shafer’s Tumbleweed Tiny Homes and fell in love. The simplicity and creativity and coziness made me fall in love. I dreamt of all the places I could go, the things I could do if I was able to live affordably in my very own dream tiny house.
Since that time I’ve actively researched and invested time and money into the idea.
I’ve lived in several different situations since that time, traveled all over, and still love the feeling of small spaces and living in an environmentally friendly way.
I stayed in a large closet in berlin for two months, an attic apartment for a year, tiny bedrooms that barely fit my bed, and toured several small cabins and apartments.
I’m now at a place where I’m ready to buy land and start building.
This blog is dedicated to getting ideas out of my head, and thinking about my guiding principles.
