...Or rather, no, excuse me, let me be more specific, before you go pointing fingers at me and crying "hypocite!", hm? Keeping secrets of one type is always wrong: trying to hide sin. “He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy”, yes?

But you are not asking about sins, no, you are asking about silly little secrets like plans for surprise parties or embarrassing tidbits best kept under wraps. The Lord's concern is not in keeping secrets; more so in how the secrets are used. Like blackmail, yes? I worked in that business long ago, and learnt quickly that to keep a secret to protect another is a noble thing indeed. And while I know, I know, I do run my tongue for too long, too often, I would never think to sink a friend's ship with my loose lips. If the secret is harmless, however,

Well! Then the fun in sharing it is harmless, too!

sometimes my insta tl is full of shared posts from the ro.mania and bucu.resti accounts and the caption writing is. it's very anica. so extra so flowery i love it but i can't help but make the comparison.

Yes! Onion plants flower, of course! Twice a year, in fact. Granted, you will find that the flowers do not taste half as good as one would hope. Nor does the bolting do any good for the bulbs... I-I mean! They still are pretty! They are still edible! But perhaps better suited for a chutney, yes?

i'm in the process of buying an apartment. i hate mortgages and solicitors are all part vulture i swear to god BUT. but. i'm going to be a homeowner.

anyway hi

i'm not sure how to start this post honestly! i left bucharest in september absolutely exhausted - happy, but exhausted, with bad sunrash and heat exhaustion (which is one way to learn i'm too weak for balkan summers lmao) - and from there i just...got swept up by everywhere. namely work and baldur's gate 3.

finally beat bg3 last week and it's undisputedly goty. it deserved all the accolades it got the game awards and neil newbon should've been given longer for his acceptance speech!

oh yeah i met him and devora wilde (lae'zel's va) (holy FUCK SHE'S PRETTY UHM) at a convention last week (it got me off my ass to beat the game)! both lovely people, got signed prints! and some great photos with neil. such a sweet guy.

ANYWAY why was i here again.

i think my absence boils down to little more than anica not being my active muse rn - my current tav has taken that spot for the time-being. i also left ro...not disappointed. i know i'm done with bucharest for now, and need to visit elsewhere. i was thinking cluj and/or timisoara next spring (not rn tho bc i am also too weak for balkan winters lmao).

i also felt like i had overcooked a lot of stuff for anica and need to peel a lot back, and simplify her character in some places. the detailing is an act of love, and i love making complex characters! but i also need to make it 'flow' for lack of a better term. and map it out better in my head.

i'll come back and chat about my bucharest trip at some point soon bc it really was a jam-packed trip and i haven't really. recovered from it. now i need to look at property viewings and mortgage prices and i hate being an adult.

but i hope that you've all been well in the meantime!!
