Pose: the five lads in the front have all opted for an identical “hands-on-knees, back at 45 degrees” pose (bar Tino who looks like he’s arching his back and sticking his arse out a little more than the rest but we’ll let it slide). Points for consistency across the row, but a crouching squat would decrease the risk of them looking like they’re taking it up the arse from the front. 5/10

Distribution: there has been no thought given to the vastly differing heights of the team here, what with three of the tallest and one of the absolute smallest all together in the back line. Slight improvement at the front, but more could be done in terms of adjusting individual bend angles to achieve a more uniform look. 2/10

Visual balance: height distribution aside, the pennant should be at the centre of the front line. The vibrant yellow goalie kit presents a symmetry problem when part of a line of 6, and should therefore be on either the furthest left or furthest right. Harvey Elliott is the only one smiling, which whilst annoying from a uniformity point of view is quite delightful so I’ll give it a pass. Alex Scott The Man’s chin strip at least provides an anchor point at the front centre, and points should be awarded for the sock symmetry for the front line. 5/10

Overall rating: 4/10. Much to improve on, yet there have been worse photos.
