Okay I just need confirmation on this: was Alex a good singer??

Yes! Hamilton enjoyed singing, and from descriptions it seems he had a pretty nice voice. In the seventh volume of his biography of Hamilton, John Church Hamilton mentioned Hamilton sang a little, and recounted the story of Hamilton singing at the Fourth of July celebration before he died. An account of Hamilton from December 1795 described Hamilton’s voice: “His mode of speaking was deliberate and serious; and his voice engagingly pleasant.” (William Sullivan, Public Men of the Revolution, p. 261). Allan McLane Hamilton also later described: “He had a rich voice, and rendered the songs of the day…His daughter Angelica often accompanied him upon the piano or the harp….” (Intimate Life, p. 47).
