YEAH YEAH
Here we are again, using the internet, and oh what an internet it is!
If you have been mistified and confused by our use of soundcloud in the past, fear no more. Another internet has been done, and the bumtickins bandcamp is up and running.
bumtickins.bandcamp.com
Pop on over there for a good easy listenin' of some good easy listenin'. You can even download the tunes for free (or for money, if you're so inclined) and you can order hard copies of our vinyl record, which still exist is significantly reduced numbers. So get 'em while they're hot! We'd be happy to mail you a copy no matter where you happen to be.
If a price is listed, know that we will always accept what ever the heck you think our stuff is worth in lieu. If you haven't got the dough but the will is there, we can certainly make something happen.
Down for trades.
Basically, we want you to have it if you want you have it.
*Reminder*
The songs were mastered by The Rozow Conspiratory and the cover art and labels were computerized and made up by Tara Fillion.  Mad lovin,.

YEAH
So I've done some internet.
It's hard to believe -I know- but it's real!
thebloodwashedband.bandcamp.com
Of course it's foolish for me to post a link to our rock'n'roll band, when there isn't really a simple Bum Tickins internetz yet, but, there will be! In all likelyhood, before the weekend is through.
In the meanwhile, soundcloud still has banjo/mando recordings for free listening/downloading.
* *
Also, if you've seen us play an accoustic show in the last 6 months or so, we probably played acoustic guitar and fiddle. We think of that line up as an acoustic version of the rock'n'roll band, and those do exist as recordings. Those songs are mostly originals! It's all very roundabout but hopefully recordings of that music will appear on the internetz soon, too.
Why two people need so many bands, I'm not sure. Luckily, the internet exists to keep it all neat for us. Here's hoping I can make it work! But look at us go!
(obviously)Keep on rockin'

Bloodwashed Cassettes
Cassettes are being made right now! We should have them with us when we come out to the East Coast next month. Still putting together a few shows, but you'll see us for sure in Moncton and Halifax, among other worthy stops. In the next little minute we'll actually get a detail or two on this old blog.
Also, I was on diyhalifax.ca today, and listened to a self-titled release by a Sackville band, name of ASTRAL GUNK, and it's totally rad. I'll be real stoked if I ever get to see them play. Check out their bandcamp page HERE!
On our way home from a 'band meeting' with our Tyger Tyger pals, we stopped off at some food spots and found so much baked goods laying around that I'm gonna have to spend the rest of the night getting sugar-bombed and watching Twin Peaks. Not bad for a cool summer's eve!

New Summer Plans
Seems like maybe we've been dead. It's not true!
Actually this week I'm sending out some lines to folks about shows starting in July. We plan on a quick jaunt to the East Coast to see our friends out there - hopefully do a little jamming in Moncton and Halifax and Wolfville, and even trip out to Prince Edward Island this time! It'll be a quick slip out there, since we'll have to be on our way to the West again. I expect we'll do a little pickin' on our way out there, with the ultimate goal of landing on Pender Island for a few months.
This year our music is a little more rockandroll. Put away are the banjo and mandolin, replaced for now by a guitar and a fiddle. Some of the songs remain, but the sound isn't quite the same. Not to mention our proper RockandRoll setup - we'll be fitting in some electric shows on this trip, since we spent the past eight months holed up in our jam hall, ripping on electric guitars and drum kits.
Mostly I want to see everybody, just in case the apocalypse is real.

So last night we went to this show at thee Decadent Squalor, and were sooooooo stoked on THE FACIALS. They're high energy, scramblin pop punk - reminds me of the 80s sometimes, but they really rip. Seems they have an LP on the make and I'll be looking for a copy of that when it drops, but until then they have a couple tracks online at their bandcamp page.
Montreal, you're so full of soul!

Yo. We've been making us a rock and roll band since moving to Montreal. So we recorded at our jam hall a while ago and a few songs are posted over at soundcloud.
It's The Bloodwashed Band. Dig it.

The Horse Museum
So Dylan and I have both played in all kinds of bands over the years. One of the bands I used to play in, called The Horse Museum, just out-ranked some big hitters on some top twenty concept album thing. We beat Neutral Milk Hotel and The Microphones! Who the hell decides these things? Anyway, you can look at that here.
We also just recently put the whole album (Divorce Lawyers I Shaved my Head) up on bandcamp. If you haven't heard it, you can find that here. It's a long story about all sorts of confused stuff but it's also one of the best things that I've done. Listen to it, download it, share it. If you'd like a hard copy of the thing and you live in Montreal I would be happy to deliver! We can mail some shit too.

SHOW TONIGHT!
Tonight Bum Tickins are playing a show with our dear friend Davita G at the greenhouse on of top concordia. It's a fundraiser for the space, so come and hang out amongst all the little bud(dies) and support the growing up of delicious food! The show will follow a presentation about intensive small scale gardening, so if you're interested in that, too, come early!

You should check out whydoesitexist.com if you are interested in any of the following: movies, bad movies, bad jokes, friendly banter, getting drunk, drunk in public, virtual publicity. One of our songs was featured in a podcast about some movie that Val Kilmer and 50 Cent made last year. I didn't hear about this movie at all. Maybe I'm not the most connected to the film circuit, but aren't those guys pretty marketable? I remember Val Kilmer from Batman Forever (1995). He was a decent Batman! Anyway, this is a film blog about the best of the worst - investigating why someone would invest their time and energy into making something that lacks any merit.
Also: last night we went out to ye olde Wheel Club to see our new friend John Misrahi, who's quite the lap steel player around Montreal. He really did rip it up playing in Eddy Blake's band, there. I was also really stoked about Les Typhoons - a rad surf band from Quebec City. Unfortunately I can't find them on the internet, but trust me that they're good.
And so, here's The Sonics.

Tour is Over!
Holy Smoke, what a week!
But we're home now and our plants are still alive. Turns out that southern Ontario is a little tropical, and Montreal is still a little ice. Oh well. We can wait for spring. I think we'll be settling into the city for a couple months again to do some work and chill out. So get in touch if you'll be in Montreal, or we'll see ya on the road when the sun gets hotter.

Tour Update!
We're on the road now! I almost forgot that we were travelling. Earlier tonight we played a set at The Daily Grind with the very exciting Mudplots. It was a great show. Folks were real friendly, and the Daily Grind is a fine venue.
Tomorrow we're going to Huntsville, for a Pizza Party engagement at Rozow Pier.
Wednesday night we're in Guelph at Arthur Street with S.Ayton, Richard Laviolette, and Adam CZ.
Thursday night is at Toronto's finest club, The Tranzac (Toronto Australia New Zealand Club). Our set should begin around 9:30, but folks should come early to catch some of Houndstooth - the band that started Bum Tickins' journey into bluegrass. . . .
Then we're chilling till Sunday afternoon for a luncheon concert at The Hedgehole.
Wonderful!
