It seems people are insisting that Lestat physically harms Louis the books but I don’t remember any scene like that and it makes it sound like some fans are trying to rationalize the upcoming dv scene saying it’s canon accurate. Do you remember Lestat physically hurting Louis? I only remember the bitch fests

Answering this now that the episode is out. Frankly, anyone saying what happened in ep 5 is canon-accurate is out of their mind. There are two minor instances I can think of: Lestat smacking Louis during their first hunt so he doesn't drink after his victim is dead, and shoving Louis away while he turns Claudia. They get in a couple minor scuffles very early in the book as well, but neither of them are injured.

This was so OOC for Lestat it's insane. He specifically states that he could NEVER harm Louis or Claudia. Even after they've left him for dead in the swamp, he doesn't seem to intend to be violent with them on returning. He says in TVL that he isn't angry with them, that he had it coming and he would've done the same.

The absolute worst Lestat ever gets is, arguably, in the fourth book. He and Louis have a nasty fight when Louis refuses to turn body-swapped Lestat into a vampire, and it's the angriest we ever see him with Louis. Still, Lestat doesn't lay a finger on him. In retaliation, Lestat burns the shitty little shack house Louis' been squatting in after removing his valuables then sulks on a bench and tosses out a couple half-assed empty threats that Louis barely reacts to.

So yeah, the real Lestat would NEVER. There isn't a single moment where Louis and Claudia seem to have ever been at any risk of Lestat hurting them. Lestat is mean in IWTV. He's controlling and verbally abusive and deserved what he got, but he isn't THAT. Lestat, baby, I'm so sorry.

i hate when people are like “feyre is a bad artist” !!!!

i hate it. such a bad take. everyone who sees her paintings are amazed, the ones she gives to her friends and family for solstice make them cry!!! i don’t understand the joy some people in the fandom feel while they belittle feyre.

she is powerful and strong and her kindness and creativity is part of that strength and what makes her amazing.

none of those people also are like “haha aelin probably isn’t even good at playing music” because it’s just unnecessary.

it feels, icky.
