how to edit your DOL save files! (a guide with pictures)

Why? People edit their save files all the time, to increase or decrease stats- usually to make the game easier without properly cheating. Though DOL has a built-in feature for cheats, it doesn't allow you to gain feats. Remember; There is no one definitive way to play videogames! Do as you'd like!

First, you're going to want to Save to file, name it whatever you'd like. Next, open either saveeditor.online, saveeditonline.com or any other ren'py save editor you find reliable. If you're using saveeditonline.com- follow this below

You're going to want to bring up your 'find in page' function, on windows and chromebook, this function is CTRL+F. This allows you to jump to any typed text quickly. Alternatively, if you're using saveeditor.online, there's already a search option for you.

Next, you're going to input whatever you want to change into the search fields, whether that be money, skills, or a love interest's stats! Remember; Export your save before editting it just incase you mess up. Here are some stuff you can change; Money. There are two zero's next to it, these are your cents. Remember to ignore them or add cents as you wish.

After you're finished, download the editted file from the website, and insert it into here on the import/export page.

Eden the Half-Orc | Ranger:

Where others call the city a blessing for desires or opportunities, for Eden it was his utter bane. He hated everything about it in his youth and continues hating it far after packing up his meager things to then head straight for the forest. He didn’t look back once as the bustling view was swallowed up by trees. There he stays, surviving in solitude, life difficult yet peaceful. But some days are…lonely, and with loneliness comes desperation. And other rarer times are memories of a devil and someone he wishes he could forget. Isolation, neglect, a fate not unlike death, he wonders who out of their methods truly escaped the deal with a devil who may never come to collect.

Alex the Satyr | Druid:

Born with too many siblings and even more dreams (or as his family calls it stubbornness), Alex always knew where his heart lay. That being with a metric ton of dirt, potatoes, and the bottom of a stein. And maybe another round of drinks. When did a keg get here? Wait-what was I saying again? Right, anyway, with his natural aptitude for plants and a good dash of magic, farming should have been an easy endeavor. Seems like the land he bought nearby the city is as stubborn as he is though to an almost unnatural degree. Then there’s his neighbors who, well, he’ll learn the hard way they have a ruthlessness to rival.

Avery the High Elf | (Blue) Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer:

Every ball, every banquet, Avery will be there demanding no less than the outclassing his competition and associates alike. From company to trivial things like dance, matters like these pose as a test to his reputation. And if he can’t throw enough money until it works then there are other methods of forcing imperfections to obey.  See where his wealth comes from is just one of many mysteries. What anyone does need to know for certain is that the displays of magic he too often flaunts are statements of more than one kind. The type of power that patiently rages beneath jewels and old bones and charming smiles waiting for a chance to show.

Welp human LIs finished. Time to either burn Kylar’s clothes or draw what’s on everyone else’s clothes upclose. I’m not gonna elaborate cus I don’t know where I was trying to going with that.

Robin the Human Fighter

Robin's well known as the guardian of sorts for orphans in the city. Ever since his childhood friend was abducted before his eyes and he was too afraid to intervene, he made a promise to save the others from similar fates. When that same first friend waltzes back into his life, he doesn’t hesitate working with her towards their similar money-based goals: Every week he pays off freaks to leave the orphans alone. If he can’t pay or Erin can’t spare whatever she earns then he has to extract value from all he has. His body, for example, never fails to amass quite the bidders.

Whitney the Half-Elf Barbarian (Wolf Heart/Totem)

Whitney is one of his tribe’s strongest (or rather popular) fighters. Though when he earned his claw-like scars for true warriors and adulthood, he took his most trusted friends and left to make a name for themselves, ending up as skilled bounty hunters in the city. Shame he despises all the scum in it. Even if he and Erin weren’t rivals in their line of work, he refuses to speak about his actual home. For all anyone knows his arrogance is from a place of prestige, or his desire for something greater came from humbler origins. Give him a good laugh guessing.

Kylar the Tiefling Rogue

Forsaken by all save for his long time familiar, Kylar is used to passerby looking down at him like guttertrash. So what other choice did he have besides becoming another run-of-the-mill thief in the city’s underbelly, stealing what he needs to survive? A vast array of reagents for fatal brews is, apparently, a definite must. For a thief though his clothes are suspiciously similar to nobles wear. It’s difficult to tell from the damage collected over the years, or maybe it’s also because he looks no better than a child playing in their parent’s clothes.

Sydney the Aasimar Cleric of Virgo:

The union of Sirris and their partner, a devout who unknowingly carried blessed blood, resulted in one of the temple’s most prized yet coveted secrets. As a child of celestials, Sydney can only seem to remember the walled grounds of the temple surrounding him all his life; a constant stream of monks and nuns fretting over him at the thought of outsiders taking what’s theirs. A holy sign. A miracle so he was called, forever bound to their goddess’s love.

Sydney the Fallen Aasimar:

The falling of his beautiful feathers didn’t turn him cruel. Instead he’s lustful, uninhibited, and everything staining his goddess’s vision. He opened his own eyes to the very things the temple warned him of his entire life, but he doesn’t—can’t look away anymore, wanting to see how far this life of debauchery and sin can go. The spear may burn him with every touch now, but he’s certain the unfamiliar shiver running through him from the pain only stokes the purifying fires in the relic even more.

Erin the Changeling Warlock/Fighter:

Erin has to pay 50 gold minimum per spell casted to her patron, Bailey, a cambion who is notorious even within his layer of the hells. The higher level the spell asked from this glorious bastard, the higher the price is raised. She may also replenish a spell slot of any level if she offers an extra 300 gold and pass a CHA check for seduction. In meta this is the equivalent of slipping your DM a note and an under the table handy.

Got bored of making covers for now so I wanted to take a break practicing my rusty character designing.
