A guide to using xe/xem pronouns.

Hi! I’m a person who uses xe/xem pronouns. First of all, I appreciate everyone who uses those pronouns for me. However, I have seen a lot of people confused on how to use those pronouns in speech or text, so here’s a guide on how I use them.

The full pronoun set, at least the one I use, is xe/xem/xyr/xyrs/xemself. These pronouns are neopronouns and are gender neutral. When pronouncing them, the “x” is usually pronounced like a “z”.

Those pronouns would be used instead of a different pronoun set such as, for example, he/him/his/his/himself.

For example, a sentence such as:

“He was walking to school.”

Using xe/xem pronouns would look like:

“Xe was walking to school.”

And a sentence such as:

“That book belongs to him.”

Using xe/xem pronouns would look like:

“That book belongs to xem.”

Or a sentence like:

“That is his book.”

Would be:

“That is xyr book.”

And, a sentence like:

“He did it himself.”

Would be:

“Xe did it xemself.”

Again, this is the way I use xe/xem pronouns, other people might use them differently.

PRIDE Y'ALL!!!!!

Before I forget, I want to wish everyone a great month and remind y'all that you're valid and loved no matter your gender or sexuality!! [except if you're "super straight" or a "MAP", in that case go fuck yourself]

To all of them queers who are against other queers: they hate you. They hate us all. Once they're done with one group, they'll come for the other - for yours. So ask yourselves: do you really wanna side with the leopards that will eventually eat your face too, or side with your community, the one that fights for the same cause as you, who wants nothing more than respect and to be seen - just as you?

We're a community, and we should all support and respect each other. Hate thrives when we go against each other. Gays, lesbians, bi/pan, trans, non-binary, ace - we're all so different and we have such different experiences, yet we are one under the flag. We all fight for our rights and to have basic human decency. Be nice, and be kind, and be supportive.

Also, special message to my fellow aro/ace folks: no matter how much people claim that we're not part of the community, that we're pretending, that we are not oppressed - they're wrong. They don't understand us, what we go through, who we are. They say sex makes us human and that we're broken or psychopaths. You're not broken, and you are most definitely human. They say humans need love, as if we're not full of love ourselves - not always the romantic type, but are the other types not worth the same? No matter what they say, don't feel ashamed of staying true to yourself. You're just as loved and just as valid as anyone else.

[Dramatic? Yes. A bit too much? Maybe. But I've been seeing so much discourse as of lately - LGB, acephobia, transphobia - and we're on day 1 of pride month, I had to get this off my chest.]
