In the first episode of Netflix’s Stranger Things, there’s a slip of an X-Men reference. It’s tiny, barely there. “Race back to my place? Winner gets a comic,” Dustin says, as he and Will speed home. “Any comic?” Will says, before taking off into the darkness. “I’ll take your X-Men 134!” That mention of a specific X-Men comic is the last thing Will says to his friend, and to the audience, before disappearing. And it’s not just a random comic book in Dustin’s collection. Uncanny X-Men No. 134 is one of the most popular and significant issues in X-Men canon. It kicks off the most important X-Men story in Marvel history, and it contains the first appearance of one of the most destructive forces in the X-Men universe. And viewed through the lens of Stranger Things, it’s both a taste of what’s to come on the show and an homage to the X-Men character known as Jean Grey.

latinx jean grey, who is born in america and has an american name but lives in a house where the english is rare and accented. jean grey who has an accent, but tries the best she can to hide it, because people are constantly making fun of her for it 

latinx jean grey, that, once she has more control over her powers, makes sure that people hear her english as accent-less, or with a heavy new york accent, 

latinx jean grey, who learns to love her heritage and herself and her accent at the same time as she learns to love and appreciate her powers, accepting her for who she is 

latinx jean grey, who becomes obsessed with latin america’s history and who gets a history major while in college, who embraces the way that sometimes her words linger in the ‘ed’

fearless.  here’s a little notice: from now on, this blog will be STRICTLY 616. i will not have any threads set in the xmcu universe, unless plotted & discussed in advance. the reason for this is that, as i stated a few days ago, i am no longer comfortable with the fox universe & the x-men movies. 

i will be searching for a new young fc for the next few days & whatnot.

APPREHENSION IS A NEAR IMPERCEPTIBLE pinch of the brow;  impenetrable mask cast forth from flesh in favor of steel.  in this world,  this realm inhabited by gods  &  superhuman endeavor,  he’s become too accustomed to walking amongst ghosts to summon forthright wonder.  there are those whose deaths remain  impermanent,  and no amount of justice nor karmic equilibrium can determine who is granted  annihilation,  immortality,  RESURRECTION.  but perhaps in this particular case they should have guessed as much:  ashes  &  the women who rise from them         the stuff of mythology made manifest          and then there are the ones that life simply isn’t finished with.

             ❛    they should really start waiting a few MONTHS before reporting my absence.    ❜         words come out of her lips as a joke, a BITTER realization of her condition. were she to stop and count, how many resurrections will she have had? how many times has LIFE been sucked out of her body, only for the PHOENIX to give it back to her, with or without consent? the answer is ONE TOO MANY. the real question should be how many times will it happen again, but she knows the answer to that too: how many times it may be NECESSARY. in a way, her body & soul are not her own. in a way, they belong to the PHOENIX, forever bonded, to be used whenever necessary, for the WORLD and the UNIVERSE and each REALM.  

            her interactions with tony stark have been limited, to say the least. though both groups aimed to save the world, they worked differently, against different enemies ---- until now. NOW, it seems as if they are fighting against one another. the X-MEN fight against what has been done to mutants, against what the AVENGERS have allowed to happen   (  the hatred grew and grew and grew while she was away. it took a life of its own  ).   ❛    i usually never know why the phoenix chooses to RESURRECT me. this time it seems very clear to me.   ❜      she pauses, lips parting slightly as she takes in a deep breath, and weights the words that ought to come out of her lips. ❛    this has to stop.    ❜

so. here’s why i haven’t been active. 

i’m putting this under a cut because it will have TRIGGERING themes such as pedophilia and sexual abuse, all of which links back to BRYAN SINGER and, eventually, links to x-men. so. here we go.

bryan singer has been linked to multiple cases of sexual abuse, and has been charged with pedophilia and sexual abuse of a minor (those were dropped). and i get it. if you want to say that hey, they were dropped!! there’s no reason for you to be so angry about it! go ahead. say it. i really don’t give a fuck if they were dropped or not.

i don’t know about you, but there’s something about the producer/director of the x-men franchise being linked to rape and pedophilia that makes me sick to my stomach, that makes me uncomfortable around this material.

i’ve payed to watch all x-men movies. i supported this man. and it makes me disgusted. when i found those sources, while working on a project about the culture of pedophilia, i puked. 

i love jean grey with all my heart. and i know that i’m mainly 616 vesed. i know that this blog barely has any xmcu interaction. but i just don’t feel comfortable enough right now

i thought it was the fandom or a lack of muse but it’s not. i just.

i want to be back here and i want to be more active and i will i just need some time.

i hope you can understand it.
