Even if it wasn't that long ago, Estelle acted like she hadn't seen Rita in forever as she approached her and gave her a big hug! "Rita, I'm so glad to see you!"

“E-Estelle-!! What’re you doing here-!!”

The hug definitely took the mage by surprise, stammering out her words as she almost drops the handful of books she’d been deciding between outside the storefront. It’d been a while since she’d been to visit the other girl, and while they’d met a few weeks ago under different circumstances, Rita hadn’t been to Halure in quite some time.

Admittedly, she had also been intending to surprise the other with a gift before they met up, but it was difficult to choose exactly which tale the other would prefer... And it seemed she had found her before she had made the final choice.

“Aren’t you supposed to be back at your house? We weren’t going to meet till lunchtime...!”

Though she supposed Estelle was never good at staying and waiting when she was excited about something, and she had definitely seemed excited in her letter of invitation. Hopefully she wouldn't mind the surprise being ruined, then...

“You really haven’t been around him long enough, huh? Though that’s probably a good thing...”

“He would’ve deserved being hurt, but i always end up as the one who has to drag him off the street while he cries about being rejected... So i guess you could say its worry for having to do that again.”

“Has anyone every told you you’re a really mouthy brat-! There’s nothing wrong with a little dirt you know!! Baths are a luxury that isn’t important if you don’t need it, so why don’t you stick your fishy nose into other people’s business and not mine!”

“Not everyone has to like seafood-!!”

Admittedly, she felt bad for snapping, but-! but-! Damn pirates...

“How many more days is the Old Man going to have to cook for... I can’t keep skipping meals but all he makes is fish.... Yuck-!”

"Rita, here!" Estelle walked over, setting down a flower crown on top of the mage's head. "I made it just for you. Do you like it?"

“Huh..? What’s this for?”

It wasn’t too odd for the princess to do these sorts of things, and it wasn’t the first time she’d been on the receiving end of one of her gifts. It was sweet, really, as much as the girl refused to admit it... Estelle seemed to put a lot of care into such crafts that made it practically impossible to reject them.

Though a flower crown was a first...

Delicately the mage reaches up to touch the colourful gift, flinching as she pressed a little too hard and felt the soft petals crumble under her fingertips. She didn’t want to break it, but she can’t help the fluster that spreads across her cheeks at the thought that she’d made something so delicate and most likely very pretty for her...

“Are you sure this is a good use of your time, Estelle... I’m not really used wearing to floral arrangements of all things...”

“Miss must know Mister very well. Is Miss worried for Mister?”

“Well yeah, rude’s one way to put it... But don’t get the wrong idea, i’m not worried about that weirdo at all-!”

“If anything i’m worried about the poor women he tries to talk to, who knows what’ll happen if one of them decides to give him a beating-! Or worse, calls him out on his creepy behaviour-!!”
