Lore: FR Urban Legends and Cryptids

 My clan has a lot of Cryptids that they can be really superstitious about, so here’s a handful:

Wapititête: Creature the coli fighters claim to see in the Boreal Wood that brings bad luck. Said to have the body of a Tundra and the head of an elk. Disappears if chased, never takes flight, coli fighters think it’s an escaped experiment of the Icewarden’s.

Mbecke: Enormous pale white Dire Hyena that roams the Scarred Wasteland(or the Shifting Expanse, depending on who’s telling the story). Causes animals, and sometimes dragons, near it to act strangely: either staring off into space or walking in circles. The clan taxidermist claims to have the skull of one.

The Redrock Thing: Another creature claimed to be seen by the coli fighters. Described as “a thing that was definitely not a Spiney Whale.” Coli fighters say it looked like a Spiney Whale, but was completely motionless in the water, and when they noticed it, there was an ominous feeling in the air. The fighters left, and are hesitant about returning.

Reef-ridge: Legend told to hatchlings to keep them from wandering too far out to sea on the beach that escalated among the hatchlings. Went from “a strange swimming ridgeback who will think you’re tasty fish if you swim out that far” to “a ridgeback who ate a mutated plague fish and began mutating themself.” Whispered of as a beast with hundreds of teeth and vicious claws. You have to throw a fish in the water for it if you want to pass the reef unscathed.

Headless Emperor: Relatively harmless emperor that had its heads cut off in an attempt to slay it. Said to wander aimlessly, but will approach you if it hears you. Sometimes makes gibberish noises that sound almost like draconic words, and other times screams at nothing. Clan elders warn that if you see it, stay still and don’t breathe.

God Roc(Thunderbird): A bird described as 3-5 times the size of a roc, and the child of the Windsinger and the Stormcatcher. Appears only during electric storms with heavy winds(sometimes considered the cause of the storm), and is described as the only creature that will prey upon Imperials.

The Pearlcatcher with a Skull: Female Pearlcatcher whose pearl is the opalized skull of a male Pearlcatcher. Claimed to have been seen by almost all members of the clan at some point, but always at night. Apparently, she disappears into thin air when the sun rises. Is the skull real? Is it of a family member? A mate? Radical theories come up every time someone claims to see her.

New breeding pair! Torn between making them spirals or skydancers. (Or one of each...?) What do you guys think? They’re Tundra/Pearlcatcher right now, but I don’t like the way poison looks on their manes. :(

The pair range is Beige/Stonewash/Navy-Spearmint, their babies will have Water eyes and they’ll be available in my hatchery!
