"Now you say that and it makes me want to prove you wrong. Shame you don't work at the same place as me or I'd be able to debunk that opinion you have." He said with a grin. "If there is one thing I'm not, it's a failure."

Alice held onto Theo for as long as she felt she could before letting go. She never wanted to though. There was so much comfort in the embrace. She was glad that he didn't seem to be keen on letting her go either, "N-No, you should stay and enjoy yourself. I c-can go on my own."

There was a certain amount of relief in his bones when Alice hugged him back. For the first time, he wasn't sure if that would happen but it didn't take away the anxiety he felt over why he'd been so concerned and he didn't seem to be in any hurry to let her go. "Mhm... well if that's the case, I can always walk back with you."

"Biggest f-fucking understatement of the century," Alice muttered, "I don't w-want to do it but I don't have a job if I don't so I'm d-doing it. I don't need y-you to be proud."

"I'm sorry, Allie. I know it isn't easy," he sighed sadly in response to all of that from his sister. He quite frankly hadn't expected her to have reacted otherwise. "I'm proud of you for doing that. I can imagine that takes a lot out of you too."

"Has anyone ev-ever thought that maybe I don't need a transform-formative year? Maybe I just want a normal year f-for once," Alice replied. She shook her head, "I haven't had a normal year since I was... I d-don't even know, tw-twelve?"

"Alright well that's all admittedly incredibly rough to be going through, especially all at once," Arya replied after Alice listed a bunch of heavy things. "However it sounds like this is meant to be one hell of a transformative year for you. Try to look at things that way– the kind of person you can become at the end of this. We need to go through the shitty stuff to grow after all, no matter how much it might suck."

"It's definitely s-something an old lady might carry a-around in her bag," Alice pointed out, "Or m-maybe it's the fact that they m-make you feel better when you're ill th-that makes them old l-lady-like? I don't know. It d-doesn't matter anyway."

"They may not be to everyone's tastes but I wouldn't say you're an old lady for it. I personally love anything ginger when I'm really ill for example," he confessed with a shrug and a laugh.

Alastair smiled, "Alright, let me know what you find. Maybe there's something there I don't even know about." He didn't doubt he had layers, he just didn't think he was that complex of a guy but there was no need to go round in circles about it, "It is quite the rush, isn't it? One you don't normally see coming. I hope I get to feel it again one day."

"Hey, don't undervalue yourself. You have plenty of layers. I am absolutely certain I have yet to see them all. It's a task I take very seriously." The red head playfully commented, giving him a nudge. "I mean, I understand that but I don't believe there is any rush on it. You get the excitement of the build up to it once more. I do enjoy the rush you get when you find yourself falling for someone."

"That's more the TV shows. Studio Ghibli is fairly easy to follow as they're mostly standalone films," Alastair explained, "They're a bit odd I guess but fun to watch anyway," he paused and nodded, "Yeah, they do also make good music but I'm also open to most types of music regardless."

"The little I do know about that genre, it seems like a rather overwhelming thing to get into. I wouldn't even know where to begin." Cecilia spoke when he explained some of it. "I have heard some good music is made for anime though, correct?"

"No one can ever say they didn't raise us well, huh?" Alastair agreed, grinning, "Oh Merlin, no. If I ever made myself sick of tiramisu, I'd be devastated."

"And that's the kind of go-getter attitude our parents love to hear," she laughed along with him. "As long as you don't replace ever meal with tiramisu and make yourself absolutely sick I say live your best life, Al."

"At least you're years off from it yet, it'll be fine," Octavia replied, waving it off slightly. She laughed, "Oh, absolutely! I figured. By that time, I'll be living in some luxurious penthouse with my fashion fortune so she'll have a blast."

"I am not looking forward to that stage." Clara said with a soft whine because the idea of having a teenager on her hands who wouldn't listen and was... well perhaps a little too much like her was already daunting. "Understand she may move in with you at that point." The blonde joked lightly.

"Nothing wrong with pacing yourself, even at a party," Octavia replied then made a face, "Mon dieu, did that make me sound really mature and old?" she asked with a sift giggle, "You are possibly one of the greatest friends I've ever had. Do you know that?"

"I've got no doubts about that," she grinned brightly. "Hey it's alright. I should probably use this to pace myself anyways," Laurel assured when Octavia had told her that she could drink whatever she liked. "Of course, Tav. You and Erin are both my friends after all. I wouldn't want either of you to be uncomfortable."

"Oh gosh, you're such a charmer. I hope you're saying things like that to her too," Octavia replied with a grin right back, "Finding happiness can be hard work, you know? I'm willing to put in the effort for it."

"Well, she's one of the greatest women I've ever known and I feel very lucky that I get to call her my partner," Damien grinned. "That's most definitely not the question here, Tav," he told her when she'd said she was perfectly capable of handling complicated. "I'm glad to hear you're happy because otherwise I'd give you a whole speech on how being able to handle or manage something not being equivalent to you actually finding true happiness."

"Oh yes please, I may be a lover of designer clothing but you can't beat a good charity shop find," Octavia said, grinning, "I could think of about ten outfits to go with something like that. I imagine there'd be so many treasures in the same place you got them."

"Thank you so much," she smiled warmly in reply. "I got these from a charity shop actually– I take my dives seriously and found this in my like fourth shop of the day," Bekah admitted. "But if you're interested, I can give you a list of the ones I frequent. Just make sure you still leave some good finds for me if you become a regular."

"Well, I don't like to force my clothes on people. Just ask and it's yours," Octavia replied, "And you do not have to pay me for it, you're family!"

"As if I would ever turn down such an offer. In fact, I'm surprised we haven't collaborated on it before. I should certainly have paid you to create something for me."

"A good change though, believe me," Ben replied, grinning. He was surprised by the next question but brushed it off as him just making conversation, "Yeah, we usually go together. I couldn't tell you whether she goes on her own though."

"An event planning business? That's a change of pace." He mused but he didn't seem overly surprised by it either. "I see. Is it just a thing you two do together?" In a round about way, Dorian was trying to figure out the likelihood of running into her there.

Ben could only smile. How he had found himself in the perfect marriage, he would never know. He worshipped the ground the woman walked on and had for a long time, he would always support her and he knew that the sentiment was reciprocated. They showed each other every day. Ben laughed, "Well, I hope you won't because that would mean you wanted to sell it all," he pointed out, smirking playfully.

There was a warm smile on Gwen's face as she saw the expression on Ben's features at the mention of his job and the lightness to his tone. "I cannot wait for that though. You know I will always be your biggest supporter, just as you are mine." It didn't matter what happened, Ben was always in her corner, cheering her on. "I feel as though I will have a whole jewellers by the time you are done. Perhaps that can be my profession when I become too old to ride a broom."
