ME!
Yeah. I’m flawed. I’m flawed and dysfunctional and functional all at the same time. I’ve seen and experienced abuse and suffer from my own traumas but because most have just addressed my manhood over my humanity, I’ve developed a sometimes overinflated arrogance as a stand-in for confidence as a means of self-defense due to the awareness of my inadequacies.

Yup! I’m flawed as fuck but then—as I consider—no more flawed than the next urban Black Male. I’ve made conscious choices though to improve my life and my condition when I sensed danger—especially danger of my own making.
I’m flawed because I am what I am and while I give a fuck, I don’t give a fuck…because this is the nature of my design and so…
Let no one convince you that you are any worse than another if you aren’t stealing, lying or hurting someone.
I’ve learned that people really will smile in your face while you’re down and catch big—BIG—attitude with you when you start doing good. If people cone to recognize you as someone disadvantaged they CAN perceive you being less or beneath them OR that they are naturally in a better position than you. They can get stuck with ideology making it their reality.
Change is painful so if and when the tables turn or you just start doing a bit better—better enough to feel more confident in yourself leading to better decision-making processes potentially increasing your potential quality of life or relative position in community or society—they’ll feel a discomfort.
People will strive to make you believe you’re too weak or sensitive or unable to perceive life as you should. Usually those who do this are also the ones positioned to gain from you striving to keep that position or are blatantly ones who delight in oppressing you, abusing you, ridiculing or mocking you to make themselves feel empowered.
No one is perfect and in recognizing your own flaws, you’ll be vs able to see the flaws in others and the systems you have with these people that perpetuate imbalances, abuses, dysfunctions and flaws.
