One of my brothers has this thing where he likes to be included on sibling movie night but he will not sit down or actually join us, he’ll just wander around the house and periodically show up to lurk in the doorway or lean on someone’s seat

And *I* have this thing where I always always know when he’s there, because every time he’s not wandering around like the ghost of bob marley and isn’t immediately visible it’s because he’s stopped moving to watch the film from directly behind me, which makes the back of my neck tingle like a dog sensing an earthquake

Which has on more than one occasion resulted in me interrupting the movie to tell him to just sit the fuck down and stop lurking in the shadows, Jesus Christ, it’s like I’m being haunted by the memory of ancient sins

Which has in turn been shortened to just “ancient sins”, every time I feel him doing it again

So to summarize, sometimes when my siblings and I get together for a movie night, we’ll all be sitting in the dark in complete silence until my ass deadpan announces “ancient sins” and a 90 pound 5’11” Slenderman looking motherfucker emerges from the shadows behind me like a jumpscare incarnate and informs me that we are out of orange soda

Hey so my hobby in the last week or so has been of building a giant glass ball in Minecraft, 64 block in diameter, put a wall in its centre and fill one half with water, with lava in the other. Here’s the result :

"They seem good people,” Frostbite said as he dabbed at Danny’s brow with an ectoplasm soaked bit of… well, likely yeti fur. “You always pick such interesting humans to be part of your ‘fraid.”

“I didn’t… realize that any of them had, not until this event,” Danny said. “It might just be Tim, after he spent those days in my department.”

Frostbite game a little snort. “That I doubt. You have a connection to them. It is oddly clear to see, for the living. Perhaps due to your growing status as an Ancient?”

A chill ran through Danny. “I’m not… I’m not changing them, right? I mean, obviously I did Tim, to save him, but me being around isn’t changing the others, is it?”

Pausing, Frostbite tilted his head in thought. “I cannot say without running tests, but that should not be the case. While you are unique as a halfa, humans are hard to change towards death without drastic measures, such as with Hummingbird.”

“You can’t say that like that’s his ghost name,” Danny said.

Frostbite simply shrugged and returned to carrying for Danny’s wounds. Danny held back a sigh and decided to drop the matter. Instead, Danny turned thoughts to the concerning matter of the things that ad been able to injure him in such a way. The wounds would have been expected as a human, but for them to still mar his ghost form…

He would have to be careful when he went after them.

He would go after them.

“Arm,” Frostbite said.

Danny obediently held up his arm. “What’s the verdict, doc?”

“Well, I’m afraid that you are dead,” Frostbite said somberly, though he could hardly hide the amused smile.

Danny chuckled. “Luckily for me, that’s normal. Are the wounds going to be part of a new normal?”

“My thoughts are that they will heal, but I want you on an ectoshot regiment for a week and then to return to see me,” he ordered.

“Easy, I’ll be back and forth a lot with Tim anyways. I mean, if you’re willing to look after him? I want to make sure that he develops right.”

“Of course, Phantom. I am, after all, the expert in halfas,” Frostbite said with a little smile.

“You are,” Danny agreed, “and also my friend. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with him.”

Frostbite patted Danny’s arm gently. “We will see your little bird well, Phantom. Perhaps we go wake him now to check on him?”

Danny did his best to smile back. “I think everyone would really appreciate that.”
