Today (19 years ago) for MCR

27th August, 2006 - My Chemical Romance performed at Little John’s Farm in Reading, UK as part of Reading Festival. This was part of ‘The Black Parade’ Tour and was their sixth stop.

The band had been bottled throughout the majority of the show due to fact that many people attending believed they were not ‘worthy’ of headlining the Festival. This reaction was increased as Skater had played before them and were deemed more ‘heavy’ by the crowd. The band later encouraged the bottling as an act. After sarcastically asking for the crowd to boo and hiss, the singer declared: “We might be outsiders today, but we represent every outsider out there”. As the show went on the bottling decreased as the band won them over by chanting ‘Fuck the Daily Mail!’ in response to a recent article degrading them. However some fans remained upset. This led to the bands set being cut short due to potential injuries.
