See what I have to put up with? 😋 I just want a short video. 2 minutes tops! Just a short vid so I can include him in the list. But no. He’s gonna stay still for 20mts maybe move his butt for 2 seconds that’s it. 😁 In the meantime he’s just watching me thinking “look at this weirdo making all kinds of gang signs…” 😆

I just realized East Coast Ranchu’s anniversary is coming up. I was driving home from work the night of April 13, 2012. I had a new spawn of #ThaiSVRs from several pairs of breeding stock and it was the biggest batch I’d ever had since I started giving away goldfish on Craigslist in 2009. I knew I didn’t wanna keep dipping in to my savings maintaining so many goldfish. I was already spending up to 4 digits just with food, utilities, equipment and even a fish-sitter whenever I’m out of the country. So that night as I was going through the holland tunnel I decided I’d start selling them online in June or July and the funds would go into their upkeep. I wanted a brandname that had easy recall. Something that immediately gave the audience an idea what it’s about (ranchu) and where the source is from (east coast). The next day April 14, 2012 I bought the domain and that week I set up an FB page, an eBay store, a YouTube channel, a PayPal account and East Coast Ranchu was born. I wake up everyday doing something I love and enjoy and it’s the coolest thing. As ECR grew I meet so many good people in the hobby. There’s also been a lot of mean and difficult people. But I want to celebrate the good about my ECR journey. So will come up with an awesome giveaway soon that benefits institutions that could use a tank full of fat little whales (special needs schools, nursing homes, kids clubs, etc).
