Cassian said softly, brushing away the tear that streaked down her face, “I will find you again in the next world—the next life. And we will have that time. I promise.”

This is how, on the night of the party, when he turns around to a call of his name while he’d previously been talking to a potential fuck, he sees Y/N storming towards him. She was in a sweater far too big for her that she was practically swimming in, and beneath were something of a sweatpants material stopping just above the knee, her hair thrown into a bun. It had looked like she’d just rolled out of bed and the realization washes over him in a tidal wave, of what he’d unintentionally done.

First, she throws a drink in his face and down the front of his shirt, before her hand reaches out to slap him on the cheek, “You fucking asshole!” She all but yells, and even though the party had begun dying down with the time of night, there were still enough for Harry to feel a flicker of embarrassment for the both he and Y/N at the circumstance, “I get it, you don’t like me, I don’t like you either. But I would never – never – not invite you to one of our friend’s birthday parties, you heartless prick.” Her voice cracks around the last insult, and it’s then under the glow of the lights he can make out her eyes swollen puffy…she’d been crying. What Harry had done had made her cry.

He’d be so fucking cocky about it too, just laying there with his arms tied to the headboard, arms flexing on purpose to get you all riled up, his head resting against one of his biceps as he watches you unbuckle his pants. His eyes would flirt between your fumbling fingers up to your face and you can feel his smug gaze drinking up every twitch of your lips and flutter of your eyelashes, which in turn causes your cheeks to boil.

“Having trouble, darling?”

“No.” You’d snap back, yanking begrudgingly at the intricate metal clasp of his designer belt. “I’m fine.”

He’d hum teasingly, shrugging his broad shoulders, wrists straining against the cuffs and pulling at the headboard, his strength shifting the bed slightly. “Whatever y’say.”

After a few more seconds of fruitless tugging and finagling, you grunt in exasperation and finally give in, looking up at him sheepishly through your lashes. “How do I get it off?”

Harry lulls his head up from its place snuggled against his rippling upper arm, chin titling up in condescending amusement. “Oh, but I thought you were fine?”

“Just tell me how to unclasp it.”

“Sure thing, just do me a favor and touch yourself for me first.”

You glare up at him fully now, eyebrows cinched. “You’re joking, right? Getting your pants off is in your best interest.”
