Sherlock Gnomes x Y/N - Oneshot

(A/N - This is based plot-wise off of the movie! Sorry I haven't been writing the main Chiari fic lately, but I just had to write something after watching this movie!)

Chapter 1

As you are removed from the box by tender hands, and unwrapped from the bubble wrap that protected you, everything comes into focus.

This new garden is a mess.

Since your owners, Mrs. Montague and Mr. Capulet ended their hatred and found love in each other, they purchased a single purple and lilac gnome to go in their garden. There, you met Gnomeo, Juliet, and the others, as well as watched over them all whilst they learned to live with each other.

Now that you have all moved, your owners placed you in front of the home’s new purple hydrangea bush - shining brilliantly with dewdrops and its lilac-green hue. It was beautiful, and easy to appreciate even when frozen. Suddenly, the door shuts as the two leave. Around you, every gnome has been placed in the garden as they were before! You must have stared at the flowers for so long they set everyone else out whilst you weren’t noticing. The two weather-canes signaled that the owners were gone, and you, alongside everyone else, unfroze from position and began to assess the new garden. Both Lady Blueberry and Lord Redbrick approach (Y/N)’s position first, clearly enamored by the main flowers of the garden. Gnomeo and Juliet start running over just after as well.

Fawn begins to look around, surprised. “…Where’s the new garden?” “This is the new garden, Fawn,” said each of the goons in unison. “Nope, nope. I’m going back in the box.”

The stone bunnies clapped their ears, saying something in morse code that you shouldn’t repeat. “Language, girls.” Lady Blueberry whispered as she tapped one with her shovel. You jump down for a better look around the whole garden, momentarily losing your balance before coming back to your feet.

Gnomeo and Juliet hop up a ladder and spin in one another’s arms, happy as can be with each other. It’s easy to be in love when there’s someone so perfect for you…

“Oi! Be careful you two!” (Y/N) said with a more ’joking-than-demanding’ tone. Gnomeo and Juliet both jumped down. “We were just looking at the view, like you were staring at those flowers.” quipped Juliet. A non-existent blush of embarrassment comes over your porcelain features. Juliet began to giggle, to which Gnomeo ran over to both of you from where he was talking to Shroom. “Hey now, what’re you lot laughing about?… Well, our ‘leaders’ are gonna be making an announcement soon, and we better not miss it!”

All the gnomes in the garden were gathering at a garden curb, so you went over to join them, ending up at the back of the group. Luckily, most gnomes are quite short. Lady Blueberry clears her throat, and taps her shovel with her one hand.

“Now that Lord Redbrick and I have officially retired, the garden requires new leaders. As such, we appoint our children, Gnomeo and Juliet, as the next leaders!” “Woo! …Hang on, what?” Juliet seemed incredibly surprised, as did Gnomeo! You watched them with bated breath.

“Gnomeo and Juliet will lead us to create a garden before the springtime, in which the ceremony will be held!” She and Lord Redbrick began to walk away.

(Y/N) walked towards them, mimicking a bow. “Oh my King and Queen, what can I do for you?” “You could stop being such a tool, for one.” Gnomeo fell straight back into his cocky demeanor.

Juliet, however, is looking at the garden and away from them.

“This garden is just… such a mess!”

“Yeah, but it’s our mess, y’know?”

“And we can solve this together!” …the whistle of the wind can be heard in the air. You feel as though you shouldn’t have said anything there. Oh boy…

Chapter 2 As you raked leaves just next to the garden door, you noticed something odd. Neither Juliet nor Gnomeo was anywhere to be seen! You’d just seen them have an argument a few hours before, but now the sun is setting and they’re still not home. You know what? Our leaders aren’t gonna find themselves! I’ll get out there and have a look.

You barely made it down the road before hearing Juliet’s voice. The smile on your face was quickly replaced by surprise and concern.

“You risked getting smashed for some… flower?!”

“Not just some flower, OUR flower. I did this for you!”

“You did this for me? For me?! I’ve got responsibilities, I don’t have time for this!”

Oh no.

At first, you attempted to stand between them, however they quickly moved their positions away from you. Neither of them spared you a glance, however.

“No, you just don’t have time for us! What do you care about, the garden or me?”

“The garden can’t wait, you can!”

That’s a little too far.

“Ugh, I’m done with this!” Juliet ran towards the entrance to the garden, but stopped dead as she opened the gate.

You ran alongside Gnomeo, and entered the… empty garden.

“Guys…? They’re all…”

“GONE?!” Juliet shrieked, running around confused.

Someone bumps into your shoulder, assuming it was Gnomeo, you turned to scowl at him. That scowl turned to a single moment of eye contact with a tall gnome dressed in green.

“We were too late.”

You couldn’t focus on what he was saying, because something inside yourself began to feel… strange. What is this feeling?

The shorter gnome, clicking his cane on the ground, stepped in front of all three of us, now assembled in a group. “Please stand back. This is an active crime zone.”

You found yourself unconcentrated and lost in wonder. Who were these gnomes? Why were they here, and how did they know everyone was going to be gone? Why am I feeling this way?

You remember, a long time ago, on a late night. Staring up at the stars, you released a sigh from your mouth, tinged visible by the cold. Why? I’m so happy, yet I feel so alone, surrounded by those with their equal. I’m meant to represent unity, but on my own…

“Oi mate, why aren’t you in your sleeping position?” Gnomeo’s remark immediately broke you out of your thoughts.

“Nothing, Gnomeo. The stars are really pretty tonight, that's all!”

“You sure?”

“Yes, ‘mate’!”

“Fuahaha. Never say that again.”

You returned to your sleeping position, but continued to think. Why did Gnomeo and the others seem to lack that emptiness? This gap where a feeling should be, is that where love should go?

Now, in the present moment, that gap is filled. As soon as you return to reality, the others have all begun to run off.

No, you know what? I won’t let them all run off without me!

And with that, your journey began to unfold.

I want to introduce you all to my Touhou oc, Chiari Kyuseishu!! Shes my favourite so you’ll see her often!!! ✨

I got a new drawing program though so my lines should be a little better in future drawings 😊

Heres her story!

Shes a girl from the outside world who was gapped in by yukari because yukari knew that she had special powers and needed to be in gensokyo to keep her and the world safe

Shes the reincarnation of the supreme god of light, but she doesnt know that yet

Yukari gives her a magatama thatll do cool protection stuff when she's in danger

Anyways she gets gapped in and solves incidents with reimu and marisa :33

However tragically in her past her father at the shrine she grew up in (the shrine to the god shes the reincarnation of) cut off her arm because he was attempting to get the powers of the god and failed instead the god chose Chiari so he was mad and cut off her arm :/

Rinnosuke makes her a prosthetic and Alice helps her make it able to move so its okay!!
