Divided by time and space, Swashbuckler and Archie never the less had something in common from the very start: being an older brother.

Swashbuckler started cabin boy work around 14 so it’s probably just after this image that he gets to go on his first navy ship. For the next few years he’d age into proper sailor roles.

At 19, their dad dies unexpectedly. As the main source of income for 3 person household where one of them required expensive medication, money suddenly became a big issue. Swashbuckler’s sailors jobs and his mother’s barmaid work simply didn’t make enough for all their essentials. So. Swashbuckler stole away that night on The Devil’s Sarsaparilla, leaving the rest of his savings and a letter to his mother and sister on the table.

The main problem with humanverse is human years don’t translate well to Smurfs. So it was older Baby that found Skelly so that could have been 100-150 years which would only place the Smurfs around 250-300. Lets say 250 for convenience since 300’s is definitely getting into the upper limit.

So … yeah 250 and Swashie being in his 200’s that works out fine. 150-300 is all the equivalent of early 20’s to Smurfs since they live so long.

But in human years if Baby was 18 then it would make Archie like 39 at a minimum which he. Clearly is not lmfao.

So I think the story plays out the same but it’s Papa that brings Skelly back in the humanverse :)

Sooo i was gonna wait till I finished everything to post him but unfortunately won't happen for a bit T_T but I really really wanna show people soooo This is a smurfs oc I made his name is Batty ^_^ he/they

Thought of him after I saw this thing while exploring a cave back in March heehee cool right 🫶 n the brainy weresmurf episode gave me ideas (i have an au about that episode too thats kinda connected but that's for another timee)

I don't really know what his deal is , maybe a subspecies of smurfs that live in smaller versions of these .... I remember doodling different kinds of these smurfs when I first came up with the idea but I've never drawn or thought about any of them again except Batty he was just my fav xd

I had a story in my head (that I may turn into a fic or just explain in detail in another post once I work out little details if anyone's interested ^^" I still wanna post more about him) basic premise was some smurfs in a cave farther away from the village to get an ingredient or papa smurf maybe—and then the formations catch brainys eye (i was thinking it wouldnt make as much sense for him to be there too but i feel like he'd want to help . And papa smurf sent him with whoever else went because brainy ... Was being brainy ) (also I gave him a thing with batty he just has to be there to start it bro) the cave smurfs would be hiding since they don't like to be disturbed/are sleeping but ehem Someone trips over a rock and batty gets annoyed and goes to see what's going on . And they're all like Woah . What are YOU!!!!! youre a WEIIIIRRRDDD looking Smurf . blablabla but despite being skeptical soon batty is buddies with them and even offers 2 go to the village sometime when the sun is down.....He's tired

Random pieces of an unfinished comic I was making a week ago a where Batty visits the village during the day (he usually comes by at night if he does at all) and since his vision is already bad being partly bat and all the sunlight made it worse, brainy brings him to a more comfortable place and lends him his glasses 😌 I gotta doodle him w his own style,,,i have ideas but I gotta research a little again😋

Honestly I probably will get back there at some point! I was really enjoying my Sodor Rehydrated AU and had some things I wanted to change. When the mood eventually strikes.

When Archie's younger brother got married, Archie was happy for him - no really, good on Pal for having a stable love life /lh But. When Pal broke the news that he was moving out - which Archie should have seen coming, it was still an adjustment. Archie got it, they weren't Smurflings anymore and truthfully living with your sibling can drive you crazy but Archie hates having a double mushroom to himself - unlike Pal, Archie's an extrovert and loves company. Sure he can go to the dining hall to eat meals with other smurfs and very occasionally go over to Pal and Clover's shroom to hang out but Pal's got a life outside his bro now and a Smurfling on the way. Archie misses having a player 2 andsomeone he can go and annoy for no reason and stay up as late as he likes with cuz his bed is only a room away. Waking up in silence is so. Lonely.

So Archie makes a decision. A horrible decision really /ref

Skelly has hated living alone equally as much if not MORE so. He spent YEARS alone in his cave, and hates sleeping in the dark because he's scared he's going to wake back up in it. Skelly spends as much time as he possibly can outside his own shroom - its not even really decorated it legit looks like an IKEA model home he uses it to sleep and clean that's about it. But when Archie sheepishly asks if he wants to take over Pal's old room Skelly is the happiest undead corpse in the world. I mean living with ANY of the other Smurfs would have been a great help to his issues but he struck platinum here.

And you know, sure, there's an adjustment period. Lots of weird little habits you don't know your friend has till you live with them. Skelly's accidental lack of regard for personal space or property gets worse /lh Archie leaves his stuff absolutely EVERYWHERE and its kinda annoying especially when it's carbon dating equipment.

But it's also fun. Skelly finally feels happy enough to decorate his room. Archie can go into said room and throw a pillow at him any time he likes cuz there's someone there to annoy. It's nice to have a shroommate.

It does NOT help the villagers suspicions nor SmurfSkeleton's fanfiction habits but that's.
