This situation in Sudan makes me so so so so so mad and angry because they CUT OFF the Internet so people can’t say what’s happening there and they rely on US to be SAVED because they’re currently living a NIGHTMARE they can’t even go to the streets NORMALLY and they can’t do ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO INTERNET. THE SUDANESE PEOPLE RELY ON US. DO SOMETHING.

I totally agree! As a Theatre student who dabbles in both performance and tech sides, there’s a crazy amount of hard work Backstage crews do to create worlds onstage. Even with the ever-changing demands of the directors, the busy bump-in schedule, and the often overlooked detail of set, sound, lighting design and stage crew efficiency, they carry the show. Backstage crew are worthy of appreciation, admiration and praise.

Advice to Theatre Students

“Be the hardest worker you know. Be the most well read person that you know. Be the most open and generous person that you know.

You cannot have a career in the theatre without all of those things,

You cannot have a career in the theatre without understanding how important it is to receive generosity and to be the person lending a hand to someone.

The act of theatre is about being brave enough to not care what you look like, but more about the story that you are compelled to tell.
