My 3D design is of a tree sprout on top of a piece of wood, on top of a cube to represent how planning and trees are connected. The sprout represents an idea for the future, and then how it is on top of the wood and on top of the square, it goes to show that ideas can come from even the simplest of beginnings.

This image of a house designed and modeled in Sketchup really stood out to me because I like how clean and detailed it is. It seems like you could use this Sketchup design and create this house in real life super easy, so I liked it a lot and thought it had been designed duper well.

This 3D file created in Meshmixer of an alien from Toy Story really caught my eye when I was looking for a 3D designed Meshmixer file that I thought had been done well. To me, it looks just like how the aliens looked in the movie, and I thought that was really neat to see how clean something can be sculpted in Meshmixer.

This utilitarian object is a simple yet innovative design for a key ring. I like the simple yet sleek design of the key ring a lot since it is both easy to use and looks cool too.

For the video, I showed that displays some video projection mapping artwork that I think is interesting is the “Happily Ever After” nighttime show in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The show uses projection mapping to transform the iconic castle into different colors and scenes and displays and is both colorful and immersive at the same time. Some of the best projection mappings I have ever seen are from different shows in the Disney Parks.

My favorite idea from this video is that copying, or in other terms, remixing, has been around for longer than many people realize it, and how other artists have taken inspiration from other pieces of art helps us develop the art and culture we have today.

“The remix should be seen as a transformative work of creativity that forms part of the fabric of our wider cultural environment.”

The statement from the article that we read today that was my favorite was the one above. The idea that some people do not see remixes as something creative or transformative blows my mind, because in essence, remixing something is really just like evolving something.

This sculpture is made out of wood and glue and called Rubber Band Sculpture by Tim Hawkinson. I like this sculpture a lot because it seems like it is a rubber band but it has been made out of hard wood and still is so elastic looking

This Coca-Cola ad from the 2019 Super Bowl is an example of an advertisement that appropriates a famous artist. The inspiration for this was taken from Andy Warhol and uses techniques of his art style to display diversity.

For my example of a Hollywood Film that is a mash-up is Marvel’s Avengers Endgame. This trailer is a big mash-up, it includes clips from numerous movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and then all the characters from different movies are included in this one to create the Avengers, who are pretty much a group made up from a mash-up or combination of different heroes from Marvel.

This meme is one I found from Twitter that I qualify as a mash-up because it comes from the social media site TikTok, similar to the old and now closed social media Vine. The video refers to an older Vine of a girl saying “I love to dress in sparkly dresses,” and then screaming with her mouth open really wide. This TikTok pulls inspiration from that old Vine but uses a new video to recreate the Vine ina mash-up like way with a ferret.

This GIF is an animation done by J.R. Schmidt titled Tower. I like this GIF because it shows the step by step building of the tower and all the individual pieces and it just seems like something you’d see in a video game.

For my in-class presentation, my artist was Erwin Redl. Redl does installation art with LED lights and other materials. The art is also immersive and sometimes interactive. Another artist who is similar is Yayoi Kusama, she does installation art involving lights and various materials that is both immersive and often intractable, I hope to see her exhibit Infinity Mirrors one day.
