[ Odd, but not out of the question. He merely blinks, giving her a small nod. ]               ❝ Right. I'll, uh... I'll see what I can do. ❞ 

❝ i refuse to eat anything that is not jalapeño cheddar cheese-snacks. ❞

❝ ... Alright.          If that's what you want. ❞ 

❝ -- I'll bring your dinner up later. ❞ 

❝ i’m perfectly fine.

             leave me alone. ❞

Don’t ever back me into a corner expecting me to break.

                           I do not do gentle.

             I will take every single tear I shed on your behalf and use it as ammo in the war that you started.

                               I will fight until I can’t fight anymore and I will win.

Because while I might seem fragile to you

                  { I have won more battles than you could imagine }

        and I am stronger than any warrior this planet could muster up.

                                                        You bite me and I will bite back.

           The thing is ——

                                         —— my teeth are [ s h a r p e r  ] than yours.

❝ That last fight was pretty rough -- for all of us.      Just thought I'd make sure you were alright. ❞

            ❝ Just... concerned, I guess. ❞  The distance in her tone was enough to make his heart ache, chest tightening painfully. He'd been through enough in his life that he generally considered himself professional enough to not get attached, but-- It was never easy to see a friend turn you away.               ❝ But, if you don't wanna talk --                    I'll respect that. ❞ 

         ❝Why are you asking?❞

She wasn’t planning on admitting the truth to the boy. She came there to escape from her past, but the past kept coming back. She didn’t want to be a titan— she didn’t want to see the titans anymore.

         ❝Look, I’ve got to go home and study.❞

         ❝ But... ❞ Something clearly wasn't right. He wasn't sure what it was, exactly, but something was nagging at the back of his brain, telling him that there was more to this than she was letting on.           ❝ Are you... sure you're feeling okay? ❞

         She bit down on her lip, refraining from showing any emotion.

        Mocking the other’s look of confusion, she shook her head.

              ❝I don’t believe we’ve met.❞

        ❝ Uh... ❞ He blinked, the upper lining of his trademark domino mask lifting to convey his surprise. 

       ❝ Well, yeah.             You... do remember me, right? ❞

     She froze at the sound of the boy’s words— she hadn’t heard his voice in so long. With a sharp intake of breath, she turned on her heel.

                   ❝I’m sorry, are you talking to me?❞

                    ❝-- Terra.❞ 

         His voice carried its usual, level tone, though the broad grin on his face  let her know that his excitement (as well as relief) was genuine.  

                  ❝  Glad to see you're alright. ❞
