LANDON BRYANT “ Dude, on the 'DON'T GIVE A CRAP' scale, I’m kind of at DEFCON 2 here… ”

Text
“I’d tell you but that’s not really any of your business.” Clamping up the moment the topic switched to just where the hell he had been for the past few weeks, Landon feeling his response about how he had been hunting down and killing various hunters for his Alphas pleasure wouldn’t go down too well figured just shutting that part of the convo down early would be less likely to get him in trouble. “It doesn’t matter anyway. All that matters is that I’m back and you missed me. You did miss me, right?”

“Guess I wasn’t listening and if it’s that important to you, go around. Nothing little about my ass, but you’d know since you were obviously checking it out.”
“Yeah? How about you start? There clearly ain’t enough room to go around so I’m gonna try this whole polite thing once more time. Get the fuck out the way or I move you myself.” Not bothering to comment on his little remark about him having been checking out his ass as that was just, fuck no. Landon serious about his threat if nothing else allowed for his hues to shift red before stepping closer to the male. “Move.”

Lily: If I find a Rabbit, I'm hiding pieces of it for you around the house again.
Landon: hurry or i might just decide to give 'em to savannah. take her from rags to riches.
Landon: and i'd care because? i room with you and you ain't gonna hide a piece in our room. the pups will have to deal with the smell, not me.

Lily: Were you on the news? I told you to tell me next time you were on the news baby.
Landon: yeah, no. wasn't on the news.
Landon: the point of it being a five finger discount is that it's free and you get away free.
Landon: and uh, if anyway caught me sneaking off with something then you know, i handled them. as i always do.
Landon: can we get back on topic now though? you coming home or nah?

Lily: Uh, since when did I say I didn't want to be here?
Lily: And yeah, I'm fucking aware I'm the Apex and yeah I do do whatever the fuck I want and I want to stay here and celebrate my birthday.
Lily: I figured seeing as you only want to make me happy that you'd want the same thing. If you want me to come home so much, why don't you just come and get me? Saves me walking home in 6 inches and a very nice but very tight dress alone.
Landon: since when would you rather be with them inside of with me?
Landon: fine.
Landon: we do want the same thing, in a round about way. i want you to enjoy it and be able to show off the numerous gifts i had to kill, steal and buy. you want to enjoy your birthday and your little party without any jewels to show off.

Lily: So there is a rabbit in our room?
Lily: Is it made of diamonds?
Lily: Why should I have to leave my party because you forgot my birthday? Where is the logic in that? You normally love being near me at parties so you can be all territorial. What ever happened to that Landon?
Landon: no. would that make it acceptable? didn't forget.
Landon: swear i didn't forget. it just took a bit of time to get everything.
Landon: you know i wouldn't lie to you and after how many fucking years, you know i wouldn't forget.
Landon: and nothing happened to that landon. i just didn't want you waiting any longer for your gifts.

lexa-bryant:
This was ridiculous. The entire thing. It was a stupid half-baked idea of a young woman who should have long since resigned herself to the thought that anyone could have survived the scene she had found so many years ago. Should morning come and her throat still be located inside of her body and not worn around someone else’s neck Lexa would drag herself to wherever Rick was and ask him to never let her do anything so stupid ever again. First she’d have to tell him the whole story but he’d have mercy on her and she would need someone to hold onto as she cried hopelessly. Giving a lift to her brow she could tell the moment was well enough right to say what she truly meant to say. Clearing her throat as she drew in another breath, surprised she was still breathing with the anticipation she felt for the only answer she wanted to hear a shot was fired. The bullet sliced through the air and lodged in the wall not to far from his head. It was a warning shot, something to grab his attention. If Lexa wanted to hit him she would have from the moment he first called her Sweetums. In all honesty she was ready for a fight if it came to that but with feet firmly planted in the ground she asked the question that hardly seemed able to want to leave her lips. “Only one answer. Only one one real question - are you or are you not truly Landon Bryant brother to Alexandra Bryant - a little girl who was forbidden to seek out her older brother only to sneak her way to him whenever she had the chance even if it meant her life? Are you that Landon or are you impersonating a man who should have long since been dead? Are you my brother?”
Call it stupidity. Call it bravery or just call it for what it was, him not being afraid to die. Remaining still, remaining calm even as he missed death by mere inches, the warning shot did little to throw him off. It did little to actually faze or upset him. Abused all his life, death had been a welcome thought when he was growing up so now, even with something to live for, even with someone worth living for it still failed to faze him. He had welcomed the idea of death greeting him so long ago that turning it of, thinking any differently was impossible. Calmly lifting the beer to his lips, he took another sip before setting it back down, keeping his hand resting on the neck of it as he watched her and waited for her next move. Not having to wait long, as she start speaking and her words actually registered with him, he lifted a brow first in curiosity and then in confusion as everything she was saying just seemed to click in place. He hadn’t told anybody about her. For this woman to know her name, for her to know that story vague as she put it, that was - it was impossible since his alpha had ripped his sisters throat from her neck and kept it moving. Taking a deep breath as she trudged on and finally spit out what he was sure she had been dying to ask, Landon finding words were currently escaping him could do nothing but his best fish impression as his hues darted over every inch of her. He wished he could say he recognized her. Wished he could say that that some part of his memory was clicking into place and despite her having grown, a fragment of her former image still remained but he couldn’t.
She was a stranger to him. A unknown face. She - Pulled from his thoughts as the bottle he had been holding shattered in his grip, Landon knowing the glass had sank into his skin but feeling no pain even as his blood sluggishly rose to the surface and leaked from the wounds could do nothing but continue to just gape at her. “You’re dead.” He finally chocked out, his words strained and tight as if saying them were psychically hurting him. “You’re supposed to be dead.” He repeated even as his head started bobbing up and down, his nod a callback to when she had asked whether he was truly her brother or not. Finally taking a moment to dwell on that of all things, he just continued to nod before finally shifting to move himself from the kitchen in order to approach her. Whether he planned to hug her or kill her, he didn’t know but the urge to get closer, the instinct to just get near to her was something he couldn’t ignore. “How aren’t you dead? She killed everyone. I - I helped and I looked for you -” And he hadn’t been able to find her but he had still assumed she had been dead. Gone. Ripped from him and yet, here she was. “I-” Stuttering and tripping over his words, he clamped his mouth shut cause really, what was he supposed to say in a situation like this?

Pat nodded, vaguely remembering seeing the dancer both on stage and that night they’d met briefly in the back of the club. “I think so, yeah. I really like Stella, too.” She gave the other a small smile. “It’s nice seeing you when we don’t have to spend an hour locked in a room so we won’t be arrested, by the way.”
“Stella?” He repeated, before nodding his head in agreement a beat later. “Yeah, we got lucky with her. She’s great too. I’d be willing to hook you up with a dance if you wanted?” And by hook up he meant basically doing his job and forcing her to pay for it but it sounded better - nicer the way he worded it. “Yeah.” He paused. “It’s nice. Always good not to have cops breathing down my neck.”
