STOP TAKING PART IN THE CULTURE WAR.
That is what our government wants from us. If they push the culture war issues, then they can fight for their constituents without actually fighting for their constituents. I seriously doubt the Democrats and Republicans even hate each other like they claim too. Dislike? Sure. But not this get on the news and dunk on the opposite party b/s. We cheer for it. We love it. Sticking it to the opposite political party gets us wet for some reason. But you want to know a secret? We have more in common than we do differences. Yup, it’s true. The politicians don’t want you to know it. Because then they would have to govern in a way the people want instead of in the way they want. The media, both mainstream and independent, don’t want you to know it. Because they make all their money on outrage theater. The easiest solution to this would be to just blow up the 2-party system. But check this out, we can’t. Why? If we did that our dollar would be at risk to lose it’s spot as the strongest currency in the world. Following that, our status as the world power could possibly follow. So, we are stuck this way. Our only option is to fix these broken parties. How about we the people work on that, get the money out of politics, then decide if we want lower taxes or put more social programs together later.
I can see many of you reading this saying ‘But we disagree on so much, how can we work together?” We agree on more than you think. Here is a short list I made off the top of my head. Citizens United only help the politicians and big business, it hurts the people, it needs to go. Term limits on Congress needs to start immediately. While we are at it, they make way too much. Cut all their pay by 50G’s starting immediately….and don’t allow then to raise it for a minimum of 12 years. Congress should no longer oversee giving themselves raises, it can only lead to corruption. Just look at Congress now.
Which brings me to my next point, lobbying firms are corrupt. Who they wine and dine and who they give money to should be public information. Not hidden in a chart somewhere deep in a .gov site. It should be front page news. The politicians who engage in these activities should have to answer to us and we should judge them harshly. Not to pick on him, but why did we listen to Jim Jordan pretend he wants to fight against big tech, yet his 2ndtop campaign contributor was Google. You think google would give money to someone whose goal was to bring them down? It makes no sense. It’s right in front of our faces and we still don’t see it. Social security benefits are being slashed by Congress. As it stands, the line on your paycheck that tells you how much money is taken out for social security stays the same, yet the amount that goes towards social security shirks. All while their government pensions stay private and untouched. IF we are low on money, how about instead of taking away Grandma’s ability to buy all the medication she needs, we shrink these fat private government pensions?
How about republicans stop calling democrats dumb libtards? While we are at it, how about democrats stop calling republicans heartless ah**holes? The problem is, while even though most of you will agree with 90% of the things I listed above as problems we agree on, working together is not a popular topic. If I had any type of platform where people would listen to me, the media and politicians would wsuit up immediately on a campaign to destroy my creditability. My ideas would be thrown to the side because they would make sure to destroy my character, and fast. It’s time we wake up. It’s time to stop crying over potato heads.
The ideas listed above have only just begun to scratch the surface. I’m not sure if anyone is with me, but I’m not going to stop until I am heard.

American Stockholm Syndrome
I wish I could understand the middle-class Americans who don’t want their fellow American at the bottom of the totem pole to have any kind of help. They say it is socialism. What? They say it will hurt our economy. Do they not understand the people at the bottom of the food chain are tired of taking an L so the people at the top can continue benefiting from living in the richest country in the world? Do they not understand the thought pattern of ‘who cares if I live in the richest nation in the world if I don’t benefit from it?” They call that thought pattern unappreciative, I say they just don’t understand what relative poverty does to the psyche. This whole ‘just work harder’ mentality is just a lie.
I don’t understand the people who don’t want others to make a living wage because their cheeseburger will be more expensive. The ones who don’t understand the grift student loans have become. The ones who says people shouldn’t need food stamps but also say these same people don’t deserve a wage that would allow them to afford groceries. Where did this idea come from a 40 hour a week job flipping burgers is only deserving of starvation wages? Full time job should equal a roof over your head and food in your stomach. It should be enough to catch a movie on Saturday night.  How can people think otherwise? We live in the richest country in the world, this is do-able.
The idea that their potential to produce capitol is their only worth has taken hold. When the lockdowns happen, did they protest for freedom to go where they wanted? Sure, of course they did. But I know you all noticed it was mainly about ‘let’s get back to work’ “We need to get back to work” “Need to serve the masters’. Ok, maybe I added the last one, but I know I’m not the only 1 who thinks they sound that way. We heard and still here it everywhere. They want to protect the economy. Save the GDP, that is all the matters. Which I cannot lie, I do find that important as well. I would like to maintain our spot as #1, just not at all costs like the people I am wondering about. I’ll take a smaller economy if the bottom half of our country gets better treatment. The working-class people in America deserve more than the crumbs they receive. Let’s not even get started on our ‘foreign aid’ budget.
Half the world sees only the fruits of capitalism; half the world knows they are collateral damage, so the rest have fruit to see.

Fake News?
We, as Americans, all have our own news sources in 2021. Liberal new. Conservative news.  Because of this these news sources can both go unchecked. They can tell their viewers whatever they want too. We eat it all up. We automatically disqualify information that we don’t want to hear with the every popular ‘fake news’. We take a real problem, and instead of looking for a solution, make it into a bigger problem. We add more misleading new stations. Independent news station learn how to cherry pick facts and mislead in order to push their narrative on how fake the mainstream media lies. I don’t see how doing the same thing is a solution. But no one seems to question it.
Trump error brought us to the point where we could all say out loud what we already knew; the media is lying to us. The problem was added too. It was easy to do. The people he was speaking to were the ones whose voices were silenced the most by the left wing leaning media. He made them promises. If you ask them, the promises were fulfilled. But could that be because if their own twisted media that popped up and/or gained popularity around the birth of the Trump area? Sure, there was Fox news. Ironically Fox’s business model was copied by left wing stations, so in a way the right created the left wing dominated media.
You talk to the other side and realize they don’t know things your side knows. You realize they think things your side knows as fake. You see them call things fake that are easily verifiable. You see them call out things that are fake that are truly fake. The divide does not allow us to concede anything, so we just hang on to our narratives tighter. Right or left, this is a reality. That is the climate we live in. Demonizing the media has always leads to tighter and tighter government control. It never ends well. Ask the New York Times how it is working out for them. News needs to be fake or misleading to compete.
We need a solution. I fear the Trumpster and the Bernie bros banning together is our best bet. Problem is, how do you convince them both they only hate each other because the powers that be want them to hate each other? Hard to care about getting screwed over by the government, media and elite who control them both if you’re too busy living in fear that your fellow Americans are going to ruin your life. It’s a grift. Time to wake up.

Terrorism?
There are so many definitions of terrorism, none are universally accepted. But all include violence or threats of violence in the name of politics. So, conservatives will argue on technicalities that the capitol attack doesn’t fit whatever definition they find that is best to fuel their argument. But didn’t the liberal do the same thing when people rioted in the summer protests? The irony is almost to much for me sometimes. I fear I’ll never gain a following because, well, I’m not here to take sides. I’m not here to say who I stand with or agree with. I’m here to point out the hard truth, PARTISAN POLITICS IS LITERALLY KILLING US. And to most people, that is a boring take.
How many people must die before we move past this? We blame the other side for our actions. We explain why it’s different for our side. We paint the other side as bad, wrong and/or crazy people. Even if they truly are, focusing on that is not going to change anything. That is what the 2-party system does. We fight amongst ourselves and they laugh all the way to the bank. Forget what you believe happen and instead be mad that the system has been hacked and set up in such a way that is did happen.

American Anti-Corruption Movement
act.represent.us --> Sign the petition! Share this!
How do we fix our system when our system is stacked up so high against us BECAUSE OF THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM?
GO AROUND CONGRESS. Not many people willingly relinquish power. It’s just human nature to hoard it.
We ARE capable, just need to start believing we are.

The truth about partisanship
Why are we all mad at each other? We got it all wrong. Partisanship has no place in some issues. The handling of the coronavirus in America is one of those issues. 54.4million people in America cannot afford their bills. Some 12 million people owe $5,000 or more in back rent. Nearly 8 million people have been plunged into poverty. Over 100,000 restaurants have closed to date. We see strangers fist fighting over masks. Around to half the population is untrusting of the vaccine. The unemployment rate doesn’t include everyone who gave up looking, but isn’t that by design? (and has been for years) So, we don’t know how many of our fellow Americans are suffering, but don’t give the peasants to many crumbs or they might start to believe they deserve the government to get done what they want sometimes. Instead of elite and big business buy our elected official’s loyalty. Why is this legal? Because government officials are paid to make sure it’s legal, even when it is blatantly corrupt and immoral.
The CARES act was full of big business and special interest bow downs. Conservative or liberal, we all know this. The people at the top not only didn’t feel 1 day of pain from this low point in history, their profits and wealth went up. According to Pew Research our great nation has become the most politically polarized of any developed nation in the world. The conspiracy theories are rolling around like big balls of (you know what) rolling downhill. If we are mad at the opposite political party that we affiliate with, we will never notice that it was the government selling us out. Or if we do notice, the hatred for the opposite side stops us from addressing the issues that will bring about positive change that will work for all.
So, what do we do? Well, like any struggling relationship, we cannot do ANYTHING to fix this until we all agree the above paragraphs are true. The problems is, we live in an era where we just say ‘fake news’ to any piece of information we find unpleasant and move on. No need to take in new information and adjust your perspective when you live by this mantra. This is not to say we don’t have a BIG problem with media bias. A lot of media, both mainstream and independent, new and old, are blatantly partisan and unreliable. Stories are manufactured where facts are left out, distorted, cherry picked, and yes, there are even outright lies.
Dismissing everything we don’t want to hear as fake news and demonizing the opposite party is both unrealistic and dangerous. These distractions are used as excuses to fall deeper and deeper into echo chambers and closer towards dissolution. Recently, I presented someone I look up to very much the unemployment record as it stands according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. He told me ‘he disagreed’ with the statistics and when I told him the source, he told me I was lying. This is someone who knows me well and knows lying is a big deal to me and it isn’t something that carries over into any other aspect of my life. When I tried to pull up their website, he ran out of the room! That is the world we live it.
I see otherwise intelligent and responsible people say things I never thought I would hear coming out of their mouths. I see people getting ugly with their family members. I see people who suddenly became constitutional experts after listening to a few podcasts and reading a few articles. It is a great thing to see the nation waking up to the reality of the failures in our government. The collective waking up is the only chance we have. The problem is we are getting sidetracked. I think Tommy Lee Jones said it best in Men in Black, “…a person is smart, but people are stupid…”. The elite count on this fact. Time to show them we aren’t as stupid as they think. The patrician train is leading us straight to our doom. Even in face of a pandemic we refuse to abandon it. Time to wake up.
