“vengeance doesn’t solve anything” true perhaps but i am……… so petty & it feels so good
#Musings#// in MB's case it's really less about the vengeance itself and more about being petty. It is literally the pettiest shit ever.#// Though... Perihelion is probably even worse.

💽— Realistically, and Murderbot knows that just too well, it won't get far on its own. It needs a transport with a pilot bot it can hook up with or, well, a human who's capable of flying such. It is annoying.
But while it always felt frustration about its clients, a familiar emotion it still denies in having (like it does with emotions in general, but let's not unpack that here), this situation here is different. And that's not just because that stranger appears to be more enhanced than the average human. (That still very much caught it off-guard, tho). This human knows about its well-kept and guarded secret, and still desires to help.
Is that guy out of his mind? Does he have a dead wish? Or is he just delusional because he's so much more enhanced and different than average humans?
While rattling down all these weird and unwelcome impressions, Murderbot lowers its arm and the weapon snaps back into its partition. The visor of the SecUnit's helmet is opaqued, much to its own comfort. It has no idea what kind of expression it has right now, but it is certainly not a flattering one.
Murderbot is familiar with this tactic of gaining the other's trust. It has seen humans do that in Rise and Fall of the Sanctuary Moon. 'I know about your bad thing, now look at my bad thing'. But Rogues that are unfamiliar with media? Yeah, they would have fired.
"I did not ask for unsolicited discriminating information about your person. I do understand your point but you still failed to disclose your ID and reason for your presence."
Viktor Talis- still carrying the name of his ex-husband out of the sheer necessity that comes from not having a surname of your own thanks to cultural norms- is never fond of being threatened. He stands there, leaning lightly on his crutch, a wry grin on his face. Casually, his left hand moves to pluck at the glove on his right, in no particular hurry.
It's a good day to have left the Hexclaw behind at home. The socket on his back allows for its install and removal quickly out of necessity- firstly, because it would be terrible and uncomfortable to never sleep on his back again. Secondly, because as proud of it as he is, it draws undue attention- not always the goal, especially when you don't want to be looked at twice.
The glove is fully removed. He extends the right hand away from the crutch support it's usually wrapped around. The flesh is...wrong. Purple, silver, impossible. That compound is an organic metal- something that should simply not be possible. And yet here it is, thrumming with life, melded to the flesh and bone beyond his wrist.
"I see no reason why we cannot keep each other's secrets," he quips, soft voice conspiratorial, "do you?"

Like this post for a Starter
If you specify no muse from my blog, I'll go with Murderbot by default and pick a verse I deem fitting for our muses together.
If you'd like to have a starter from any of Murderbot's humans or Perihelion instead, then let me know in the comments here. (I know their profiles are still a WIP, so right now that offer is mostly for those either knowing the books/tv series or just wanting to roll with it and see what they get)
Same for Multis. If you specify no muse, I'll make a pick myself. But if you have a preferred muse in mind, then please let me know in the comments.

do they wear any jewellery or accessories? Would it even like the idea of ✨accessorizing✨??? meme / accepting (Taken from my other Blog)
Absolutely not. Murderbot has already been reluctant on wearing normal human clothes, it’s even more opposed to the idea of wearing accessories, especially if not practical in some way.
It has grown to like certain kinds of human clothes (dark colors, hoods, many pockets, cozy), but I don’t see it grow any fondness for accessories. Can’t wear more stuff for hostiles to potentially grab it in a fight, right?
The only valid exceptions I see are bags (to mix in with the crowd but also to store more drones or weapons) or generally objects to conceal or store important/relevant things it needs. But just for looks or to accent its attire? Nope.

“Trope Talk” // Murderbot Meme (accepting) (Taken from my other Blog)
Because You Were Nice To Me A canonically occuring trope, but very much one I’d love to write with other muses in individual AUs, too. Murderbot could have become what it named itself, snapping one day and murdering its clients like any other SecUnit in the media.
The thing is though, Murderbot is not like how rogue SecUnits in media are depicted, and that applies for SecUnits in general, under the right conditions. All it takes for Murderbot is someone being genuinely nice to it without being creepy, and it will go really great lengths for them. (It remains grumpy and distant anyway tho, but don’t let its attitude fool you…)
Genre Savvy Murderbot watches loads of media and is usually very up-to-date on new additions. And while Murderbot is not very social, it is willing to talk about media it has watched, and has vast knowledge about those. So much that it uses information collected through Media actively on every-day situations around humans to blend in better.
Watching series also calms Murderbot down when it is upset, and it may attempt to calm others that way too, simply by introducing them to its favorite series or showing episodes from the other's favorites.

"I don't think you can bullshit your way out of this one." (from Viktor) // @niratias / meme
💽— Yeah, about that...
No one from this exploration was supposed to know that their SecUnit is a rogue, and the only choice Murderbot had was to kill that one stupid guy who was about to rat it out to the Company. And then all the others from the team for trying to do the same thing. Stupid humans.
SecUnits are not supposed to disobey their clients, let alone killing them. By now, the GovModule would have fried Murderbot's soft human tissues and killed it, if the module was still operational.
No, it can't die just yet, it didn't even get to finish The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon! If the only option is bullshitting to avoid getting taken apart for spare parts from the Company, well... bullshitting it is.
But that weird individual is not exactly wrong, either. Who is he anyway? He's not part of the team it had worked for, or is he? Well, it doesn't matter.
Murderbot lifts its arm towards the stranger and its weapon once again unfolds. "As long as no one sends out any reports on what happened here or activates the emergency beacon to notify the Company right away, I'll have a head start to hide from them and go on about my day."
Leaving the planet, though? Murderbot doesn't have a module to fly space ships. But, that's a problem for later.

#Gallery#gifs#// Idk how much I'll reblog from the tv series as I have still mixed feelings about it. But Gurathin is spot on imo.#// I like Mensah and Ratthi too. But the way Mensah is >portrayed there is just... Idk. Not the strong woman she's supposed to be.

🖥️ — Gurathin would have preferred a hopper to cross that large body of water, but a hopper was apparently not included in their budget, so nautical it is. The reason for him to join this trip as a volunteering scientist is simple: Get planetary samples to work on and learn more about Murderbot's new friend.
So, Gurathin has been mostly busy checking any accessible archives so far to learn more about Ophelia, but to not much avail. He's getting a little frustrated, but he's hiding it well behind his persistent silence. His left pinky finger, the nail showcasing shiny black polish, tugs on another archive page that is only visible to him -> so to anyone outside, he's basically gesturing in thin air.
When the announcement blares through, Gurathin's face turns into a mild grimace, revealing first hints of his otherwisely carefully concealed annoyance. But Ophelia's remark earns her a bombastic side-eye from him.
"You don't seem to be all that concerned about that. I don't have to call Security on you, or do I?"
✦˖° open for mutuals !!!
ᯓ💜˖° The air was cool, and Ophelia breathed in the scent of salt that mingled in her sigh. A faraway look was cast off the railing she leaned over, it lit like firelights in formation.
“It’s such a nice night, isn’t it?” She asked, barely above a whisper. There was an ever-present hum of the engines below deck, but every now and again, a soft splash broke the hush— waves against the hull but otherwise, it’s as still as ever.
Few people lingered. A couple walked by, wrapped in silence, and their footsteps were quiet against the wooden planks. Then, an announcement broadcasted across the cruise’s PA system:
“All guests are kindly asked to remain in their cabins until further notice. Ship security has been alerted. Please remain in your designated cabin until further notice. Thank you.”
Ophelia finally looked over at the other beside her, but hadn’t moved an inch beyond that.
“Too bad about the murder.”

" Oh look, someone wrote 'DEAD' on the wall. How cute. " 🧪Doc!!! The sarcasm is heavy with this one @outofthiisworld / meme
💽— Before seeing this, Murderbot thought it's only in badly written horror flicks that humans leave cryptic warnings on doors like this. Yet here they are, in front of a door, smeared with human blood. Gross.
"Yes, messages written in vital fluids are so cute, I can't even hear my own thoughts because of how thrilled my risk assessment is about it." Doc's sarcasm isn't lost on the SecUnit, but it can't help adding its own five cents to it anyway.
And as they speak, six of Murderbot's small drones are busy watching the area behind them, and eight are currently circling above their heads. Which sounds like a lot maybe, but it isn't anywhere enough to Murderbot's liking. It already lost six drones during a confrontation with malfunctioning cargo bots earlier, which is always fun, and now fourteen will have to do.
Which usually wouldn't be an issue here. Any normal human concerned about their wellbeing and self-preservation would turn around and leave this mess to someone else to clean up. But whatever it is that Doc needs is most likely behind that door, which leads into a whole different section of the laboratory. And there are a few... problems.
"I can't access the camera's behind that door and power seems cut off for this area. The door itself is off the system, too. I strongly suggest turning around to regroup. We have to find a way to power this section to get inside, anyway."

Just a bunch of random Prompts
" The door is locked. Do we search the key or...? " " Why don't you smile more? You've got such a wholesome smile." " All I just did is setting up the printer! Stop throwing a fit! " " CUTE? He/She just tried to tear off my hand! " " 'Enemy must be in motion'. WHAT ENEMY?! " " Thanks, I just lost five years of my life. " " If your only source is 'Trust me bro', then I'm out of here. " " Is placing mannequins in bathrooms a new trend I missed? " " I almost didn't see you in your little NPC costume. " " Don't give me suggestions if you don't know it any better! " " Where did you just spawn from?! " " We need a code. Have you seen any numbers lying around? " " Oh look, someone wrote 'DEAD' on the wall. How edgy. " " It says 'do not enter' and the first thing YOU do is to break in. " " Are you here to remind me of my failures, too? " " That was one of the most disturbing things I have seen in my life. " " Everyone seems to dislike that movie, but I actually enjoyed it. " " Listen, you can't stay hung-up on old stuff forever. "

welcome to my tiny hidden corner
byegovmodule is a tiny low-activity rp blog for Murderbot. It is a sideblog of markerexposed, so I will follow you from there. We're very likely already mutuals on my main anyway, as I only really share this blog with a selected few to not overwhelm myself. But if you're here through a shared mutual and would like to interact too, you are welcome to follow as well.
