MY SON
okay but Iāll seriously discuss this now
It gets funny at some point maybe if you like my humor.
The whole time theyāve advertised a boss in Lost Mines and you know itās Flippy you sort of expect it to be Fliqpy because Flippyās not an asshole like that. However, we all thought Russell wasnāt such an asshole BUT LOOK WHO WAS BOSS IN RAGING RAPIDS. MOTHER. FUCKING. RUSSELL. Anyways, Flippy (in all his glory) is in a hecking tank leaving just about NO SPACE to shoot him. Not to mention the little guy looks so cute while trying to kill you. Anyways, he throws like three grenades in a row, donāt click them and youāre dead mate. I was using HANDY in second level cart armor and it still caused 100 damage. Flippyās shots arenāt really lethal since itās Lost Mines and heās a pretty terrible shot anyways. But the grenades are 100% right unless you tap them. Which can get pretty challenging when youāre freaking out and being hunted by a known killer in a tank. Note heās also using the second most expensive and best slingshot in the game unlike the normal slingshot every other boss would use. I say best slingshot because it has the second highest attack and reloads faster. Again, Flippy is a terrible shot so youāll be fine. When the match is over you somehow LEAP across the tracks, STEAL his āBowie knifeā (I refuse to acknowledge it as one since the other day I picked up a book on knives and found that Bowie knives are tapered for easier stabbing but are not serrated like Flippyās), and I assume either after that you fall to your doom or you successfully assassinate Flippy. In a tank. On his own course. Alright maybe leaping across the track wasnāt such a good idea after all. But ANYWAYS when you get to the win-loss screen itās a Fliqpy icon that replaces the normal Flippy one. Assuming that you probably scared the shit out of him with your earlier stunt he probably flipped out and did battle on a moving tank. On a rickety track. With dynamite around you. You know maybe he could have thought that out more. Anyways, he emerges either dead or victorious. Iād like to point out that Flippy also gets two lives. I couldnāt survive while taking screenshots, so I have no idea whether something happens or not like with Russell. Iād say your best equipment would be poison ammo and some health kits that can heal over 100 health. Youāre going to need them.
By the way, make fun of my username and youāre dead kiddo.

From Zero to Three Hundred Thousand (Happy Tree Friends: Deadeye Derby)
We launched āHappy Tree Friends: Deadeye Derbyā on Appleās App Store exactly 3 weeks ago (1/16/2014). Since then weāve had nearly three hundred thousand installs (292,376 as of this sentence), two million sessions (1,959,321), and three million five hundred thousand games played (3,496,272). But, the most remarkable number is the number of marketing dollars weāve spent to date: $0.
Prior to 'Deadeye Derbyā, my expectations for the App Store were turning pretty bleak. 'Deadeye Derbyā is our 10th (released) game since we started submitting to the App Store in May, 2012. With that many titles, smooshed dreams, and heavy hearts, the App Store was looking more and more like winner-takes-all, and we werenāt winning. 'Deadeye Derbyā changed all of that. Donāt get me wrong, we still have a long long longā¦ longā¦ really long way to go, but it proved that thereās still a place for indie developers in the App Store - even without Apple featuring the app or spending a fortune on marketing.
King.com, the maker of 'Candy Crush Sagaā, is expected to IPO with a valuation of $5 billion. Yet, weāve been beating them in the ranks for weeks in some territories. To date, weāve been ranked #1 overall, under games, or under a games subcategory in Germany, Mexico, Poland, Bolivia, Greece, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador. The stores in the latter part of that list may not be too impressive, but Germany is ranked among the top 5 markets by revenue.
Working with the Mondo Media guys has been great. You canāt find a more creative or enthusiastic bunch anywhere else. Happy Tree Friends is a solid, albeit niche, IP. They receive millions of hits a month and theyāve, literally, had generations of viewers. Even theyāve been happily, no pun intended, surprised by the gameās performance so far. Their massive viewership hasnāt been solely responsible for the gameās growth. Previous licensed games only received a fraction of our current downloads. Weāve been lucky to find each other and align our goals. I find the best business partners are those that are in the same boat as you, paddling in the same direction, headed for the same warm and fuzzy horizon.
Our most successful game behind 'Deadeye Derbyā was 'Swipe the Deckā. We inked a deal with Chillingo, the original 'Angry Birdsā publisher, to sell three million copies of the game for $0.99 a pop. A week and a half after the launch and only forty thousand free downloads later, they stopped promoting the game. The figures werenāt where they should have been and they had bigger fish to fry. I donāt blame them, and they were supportive while it lasted; but, at the end of the day, we were just another game studio to them.
We still have a long way to go - if you didnāt get that in the earlier sentence. The App Store is still dominated by huge corporations and blockbuster hits born on the backs of many Benjamin Franklins, but there is hope. An indie developer can rise to the top of the charts with the help of some loyal fans. Thatās enough to keep me going as I sign off on my v1.0.4 update and finally get some rest after 72 hours of āthis was supposed to be submitted on Thursday.ā (Apparently Apple stopped accepting applications built with pre-Xcode 5 development tools. So I had to install a new OS, Xcode 5, update all our SDK integrations, and fix all the little fun iOS 7 inconsistencies in our game. \rant)
If you havenāt heard of our game yet, please give it a spin. Itās still a work in progress, far from perfect, but itās a start, and itāll only get better with timeā¦ hopefully. If you like it please share the game with your friends:
https://itunes.apple.com/app/happy-tree-friends:-deadeye-derby/id725760113
If you want to tire-kick 'Swipe the Deckā, you can find it below. We have plans for an all new tricked out version.
https://itunes.apple.com/app/swipe-the-deck!/id546995221
If you want to cheer along with us for every new user, I have a counter I rigged up for launch:
http://htfslingshot.endersfund.com/htf_slingshot/web/count
You can also track our players as they compete for the top spot on our leaderboards:
