Naruto Chapter 204 - Perhaps the biggest surprise for me reading Naruto thus far has been just how much excellent body horror there is. It’s unrxpected but welcome since Kishimoto delivers every time.

Naruto Chapter 199 - Maybe I’m just too many layers deep in the random mysterious strangers and body switching jutsu and identical tattoos/eyes and so forth but I’m not entirely sure what’s happening here or who it’s happening too. It seemed like a prison fight to be the next vessel I suppose? Wasn’t totally clear to me.

Naruto Chapter 196 - I know Neji is desperate becuase he’s asking WWND - What Would Naruto Do? I dig all the discussion of vision and chakra and detection but it’s way more technical than I expected it to be. Kishimoto must really dig this fight setup because there’s waaaay more specifics here regarding power interactions than almost any other fight (save maybe that Shikamaru tournament one).

Chapter 187 - This is an interesting conceit. Having a character use a magic dome to trap enemies is not anything new per se, plenty of superhero comics have a similar trope. The idea of it being regenerative and resistant to damage as long as the user has enough energy is also nothing new. However, the positional aspect where the dome is weaker the further it is from the user DOES seem like a cool addition to the mix. It helps reinforce the idea of chakra as a flow/current in the natural world like electricity.
