04.05.21 / happy tuesday! what are you up to today? i’ve been slowly going through my german flashcards lately and my cats have been patiently acting as my language partners lol. i find that allowing myself to enjoy something, rather than fixating on all the boxes i need to tick is a kindness. i don’t have to worry about much else so long as i know i’m treating myself right. remember to take care of yourself today ♡

First test of semester B tomorrow on functions so I've spent today going over my notes and watching our lecture examples. Iced coffee is singlehandedly getting me through online school, at this point I'm 50% caffeine. 🧊☕

I am entirely consumed by my dissertation. After months and months of stagnation and brain fog, to work so hard at something and actually see progress is bliss.

18.03.2021 - life is still boring... more reading on the Jacobean Church - although today I actually started on some primary source annotation! I've mainly focused on the Hampton Court Conference (1604) and its outcomes. I'm struggling to get my hands on all four accounts of the HCC in full, but I have enough extracts that it shouldn't matter too much for an essay section.
Currently reading: The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien (I'm being irresponsible but I'm in the mood!)

10.19.2018 | Fall intensive week is over, but that just means it’s time to use my “reading break” to review the Greek nouns system and chip away at some church history reading I’ve been meaning to finish. If anyone was wondering, seminary is still pretty grand.

Kill the idea that naivety is an unforgivable flaw but cynicism is just wisdom, murder it, chop it up and serve it for dinner, I don’t care, just end this bullshit idea that it’s better to hate than to love and better to rot in miserable bitter resignation than to hope for the best.

05.11.2019 // I am slowly understanding statistics, it's a though subject not gonna lie and I still sometimes need to get used to uni life when it comes to my planning. Things take way longer than they used to in high school. I might just go the the library tomorrow if it's not too overcrowded after my lectures.

“Yet it does not feel like leisure. It feels like a held breath, like an eagle poised before the dive. My shoulders hunch and I cannot stop myself from looking down the empty beach. We are waiting to see what the gods will do. We do not have to wait long.” — Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles
