hey i was wondering how you feel about zoos and aquariums? ive been seeing a lot of people (idk if theyre vegan) trying to support them by saying theyre non profit, accredited animal rehabilitation centers, & that makes them okay? i have a problem with this cos most zoos i know definitely arent for that purpose, they just seem to cage animals up&like ones with zoos r killing polar bears cos its not their natural habitat, & i know many actual rehabilitation centers tht never call themselves a zoo
Hi there fruitkink! 🐙
I totally agree with you on that, Zoos are businesses! Sanctuaries, Natural Reserves, National Parks and such are truly for conservation and nature’s well-being.

Happy #cincoderhino! 🦏 #didyouknow? in 2015 there was an estimated only ~30,000 rhinos (of all 5 species) left in the wild? 😵 with #javanrhinos having between 61-63 animals left! 😢 Rhinos are my favorite 😘 so any day made to celebrate them and educate others is a day I want to participate in #funfact2 🤓 Their horns are made of the same materials as our hair and finger nails! Zero medicinal properties and Zero reason to remove them from the animal! They only do their job when they are still attached to a cute smoosh face. 🦏😍 ♡♡♡♡

The researchers used high-speed photography and an instrument called a Rheometer to analyze frog saliva under prey-capturing conditions. The scientists think frog tongues could one day help engineers design reversible soft adhesives that could work at high speeds.

this image fucked me up. it used to be strategy of US military to burn our lodges during the wintertime so our ancestors couldn’t survive. in 1864 they attacked peaceful camps of my ancestors in Colorado, and in one attack alone burned over 70 lodges, which is estimated to be about 10% of the Cheyenne Nation’s housing at the time. i’m the seventh generation born since that attack and now we are seeing lodges burned all over again.

The rhinoceros is the 2-largest land mammal, behind the elephant. These stocky, Land Rover-sized vegetarians once numbered over 500,000, but they have been reduced to about 29,000 in recent years, largely due to humans’ appetite for their signature appendage: the horn.
Go behind the horn and learn the ABC’s of the mighty rhino.
