barry is sooooooooooo scared

honestly it almost outweighs his excitement 

he’s ecstatic that you guys are having a kid, but the thought of something happening to your baby or him not being a good father or getting something wrong

the only thing that keeps him sane is looking at your big ol belly and feeling the lil babe kick under his hand

when the baby arrives, neither of you leave its side for a hot minute

staring at his child, his own literal creation, at the soft face and little kgghbuh noises 

he feels his entire heart explode

he would go to hell and back for this kid 

holding the babe in his arms feels like a wave of calm and love sweeping over him - it gives him the strength to do anything he has to do to make sure this is the safest and most loved kid in the multiverse

wants to buy soooo many clothes for the baby

barry just touches his nose to the baby’s forehead all the time

he has quick response time, but that doesn’t help in actually figuring out why the kid is bawling

side note, you literally haven’t had to get out of bed since birth

barry takes care of errrthing he acts as if you’re dying or something

100% talks to the baby

feels kinda nervous and out of place when his kid isn’t in the same room as him

subconsciously makes the same faces as the baby when he’s looking at it - sticks his tongue out, widens his eyes, just…makes baby faces

super soft as if being louder than a murmur will hurt its ears 

you bet your ass, coochie, and dick that he sings running home to you

also did i mention? he’s exhausted

never been so tired but blissfully happy in his life

you and his kid are all he sees ever at all

he is. always thinking about both of you. he can’t focus on other tasks 

the baby is his life, more than he ever realized was capable

The days were long, alone here on the ship. Monty could feel his end drawing close, as he watched the stars pass in the ship, heading towards planets unknown. He sat by Jordan’s pod often, just staring at his sons face, memorising every line in his skin, wondering what his life would bring him. He felt age in his bones, but he was at peace. He lay in bed, ready to rest, and felt the world become heavy on his shoulders, and he knew it was time. He lay back, onto the soft pillow, and closed his eyes, rubbing the piece of clothe from Harper’s headband, that she had worn so many years ago, when they were just children. He missed her. He hoped he’d see her again. He closed his eyes, and…

He opened them again, to warm light behind a dark figure. As his eyes adjusted, he looked up into the face of his brother. Jasper, a brilliant smile lighting up his face. Harper stood behind him, so young again.

“Took you long enough, welcome to the other side.” Jaspers voice brought tears to his eyes. He reached out, and took his brothers hand.
