moodboard for a grian with psychotic depression who works at scar's bakery. grian is gluten intolerant and every time he walks into work he inhales a quart of flour and it makes him want to start ripping all his skin off. grian is in trouble with his boss because he keeps having to take breaks to go to the bathroom and no matter how many times he explains to scar that he has a medical condition that causes it scar has forgotten again by the next time they speak. grian wants to quit but he can't find any well paying jobs and also he's accidentally ended up in a situationship with his boss which is annoying because every time he steps into scar's flat he inhales another quart of flour but he tries to not let it kill the mood. it always does but neither of them are getting anything better. moodboard for a grian that will probably kill himself soon

No yeah absolutely the herd pop-up is insane lol. But I just wanted to point out that scott saying his content is for teens and up doesn't actually negate it being openly children's content bc that's just a marketing technique, and also the misconception that children's content is always squeaky clean and that any content that isn't then disqualifies itself as viable for a younger audience. These youtubers don't have to abide by PEGI rating.

A lot of people are just so terrified of admitting that mcyt is first and foremost kid's entertainment because it might somehow belittle the artistry and skill of some of their favorite creators but we gotta appreciate that no, the hermits and lifers are kids content creator whose content can appeal to older audiences as well, but the primary audience is kids. Like it just is. Some creators will have mastered how to best appeal to them better, like Scott, but in general we have to accept the fact that we're consuming kid's content. There's nothing wrong with that, and when you accept this in your heart, then these things become less jarring.

Saying one's target is teens and up is a marketing tactic to get as many different ages of kids to consume one's content. Sega used it back in the 80s to have a wider audience than Nintendo - when you're making media for children it's recognised that kids (especially around 11 and up) will not be interested in media that is advertised for ages younger than them. However they WILL be interested, and even more than they normally would, if media is advertised for older ages. Scott saying that his content is aimed at teens and young adults (especially when teen can mean anything between like 12 and 18) doesn't negate it being children's content and also doesn't negate the fact that it is very much edited to appeal to younger viewers' sensibilities. It just also makes it children's content that is advertised in a way to be more appealing to all ages of children.
