I’ve decided for my break downs -> I’ll note things quickly and go into details of the doll has something new I haven’t addressed in the past.

Break down below ⬇️

Hair type -> Doll hair (wavy or slightly curly, depends on what maker has. Curled and styled straight hair might work depending on how good the maker is at styling). 🪼 Regular hair pins can work but if too big I recommend children’s accessories stores like I have in the past. This can also go for earrings as well since they often sell clip on earrings. 🪼 As for freckles, just like other skin details this can look a bit strange embroidered so using a fabric pen is what I’d recommend since you can add these on to ones on preference (same for tattoos or scars).

What I want to work on for the next plushie, I want to pick a PC with a trait or something I haven’t drawn before or much.

Progress, I feel like my understanding of the 3d shape of things has gotten better. I feel more comfortable drawing different body types too (can’t really show that with these plushie gun drawings but I’ll show it in a dif drawing). Backgrounds need a big overhaul, will try focusing on that these next few months.

Hello everyone! Back from my usual long break, it’s been a bit longer than usual since I have had some medical issues recently. Artfight got me out of some major art block that’s been happening for awhile now. So I’ll be posting hopefully on a more regular schedule, nothing too crazy but my goal is to try and post 1-2 plushie guns each month along with anything else I can motivate myself into doing while dealing with my other everyday stuff.

What to expect this month :

Bangs : plush bangs for the sides framing the face would be cute. Or free pieces not attached to the face, recently saw some people embroidering the edge so I’ve now seen 2 versions of detached bangs. So which one you choose is based on the seller.🪼 Hair type : Short fur for sure. The short style in a side ponytail I’d normally also suggest medium as an option but I feel it might make the ends a little too fluffy.🪼 Clothing : As usual, most accessories can be found via looking at kids accessories or are simple to make. All the clothes could be bought premade since they are common items, the jacket is the only one that might need to be customer order cause even if you find someone selling this exact style you’d need to have it be big enough to layer on top of the other items. I made the shoes crocs cause I wanted to :)🪼 Issues that may happen : This should be fine, I don’t see anything. Only thing is that the head might be imbalanced but it’s not that bad.

Drawing wise, feeling good about this. Didn’t forget anything. I still need to work on the goals I listed in some of my prior post so I need to hold myself to that. Why can’t anatomy just be stream lined into my brain 😞

I was having a hard time picking a baby OC from the DOL tag so I just made my own for a Whitney baby. Tried getting that same mischievous vibe I get from Whitney. The PC I’m basing it on for the other parent has the cat TF so I added some whiskers and paw pads. I think it be interesting if children of people with TFs had their traits, so the cat TF is not as prevalent for the baby since only one parent has it. Also I like the idea that babies born from TF parents can have unique physical traits a normal TF person wouldn’t have (Like a baby of a cow TF having no ears or tail but they do have hooved feet).

Anyway, I really want to find the babies of peoples OCs x characters but idk what the tag for that would be? I also might use this new doll base I got for the babies to start branching out to other games I think are cool like 14 days and find OC children. Idk, I always say these things but it takes a while for me to get to it.

But ya, they really just have it out for me. I’m a fool who opened the flood gates. I kind of have beef with the Ivory wraith for ruining my first Halloween.

Bangs : With how the side pieces are I think the bangs would be better not attached to the face (aka embroidered.)🪼 Hair type : Doll hair. The curls at the bottom would need to be maintained by the owner though but I think it be worth it. You just need to get some sort of curler like a large straw and pour hot water over it then let it rest (this is simplified, look up tutorials on it if your curious and make sure the maker of your doll is clear about what hair they use so you don’t do something wrong to it.)🪼 Clothing : both top and bottom seem like easy finds but generally it’s not always easy finding clothes sellers. The belt for the jeans skirt is prob something you’d need to sew or have custom. The warms are fine. Hair accessories can sometimes just be found at kids accessories stores like Claire’s since they make their things smaller for children to wear.🪼 Issues that may happen : ombré pieces as doll hair sometimes cost extra. I know some makers do add on prices for extra hair colors and some other stuff. Necklace can be made with a strip of fabric and a small cross charm if you know a little bit of hand sewing. Hair bows can be children’s rubber band hair bows (I saw it before on kids when I was younger. Almost identical.)

Drawing was, I could have done better with the lips. I had fun today.

Long break, that was like a month? Yep. Anyway, the mini project I was talking about. I’ve decided I’ll be doing minis of any fan kids I see, I love seeing people draw their PC’s babies. I’ll just need to figure out what tag would be the best for finding those. Also I need to make a mini template since the body type is different.

Tried out a new pen!

Doll breakdown below,

Bangs : Embroidery would be good choice since eye overlap isn’t drastic.🪼 Hair type : medium or long fur. 🪼 Clothing : School uniform wouldn’t be hard and oversized cardigan won’t be super rare in the per made clothes, if you want it to be off the shoulder and the sleeves are too lose to keep it from slipping off you can use mini safety pins or a little bit of double sided tape to keep it in place.🪼 Issues that may happen : I added wolf feet since I’ve seen plushies with animal parts (mermaids (+ octopus), centaur cats, lower body wolf, etc) but just the feet might be a bit much for be to ask with this design choice. It be something to consult the maker about. The ears are fine though, animal tails, ears, and wings are often something done (elf ears also count). It’s just that these things cost extra.

No highlights in the eyes today! I feel like I’m improving but I still need to start doing my art studies at some point. Keep putting them off. Got a lot of work this week from my professors but I might post another on the weekend. Quick one, I’m going to try the mini designs instead! Regular size (the ones I draw) are 20cm. The smaller sizes are 15cm and 10cm that I’ve seen. There are bigger dolls over 20cm (either big in size or with longer limbs, both exist.)

Can’t decide between 15cm and 10cm since I’d need to lower the details I’m doing (good practice though). Might put out a short poll for it.

I’m be honest I did a lot of things for fun this time around. I’ll explain in doll breakdown below.

Bangs : Depends on the choice of fur or doll hair. 🪼 Hair type : medium, long fur, or doll hair 🪼 Clothing : I picked out the boots and shorts myself since I wanted to have fun, also the nails :) . Anyway, the boots would need to be custom or you could modify a premade boot set. Everything else could be found (issue of preferred colors is a battle so some people might want custom). Nails, either making puffy paint nails or those kids press one you find out the store. Attach them to a strip of gold ribbon to tie to the dolls hand if you don’t want to attach to make clawed brass knuckles instead!!🪼 Issues that may happen : The hair when it come to braids with these dolls is always an issue. Using fur can come with the down side of the maker cutting strips and you are left with raw edges. If they sew a plushie piece there is an issue of it not looking like a braid. (The bangs are fine since I think embroidery hair line for the doll would be good especially since only a little bit of hair is coming over the eyes). Doll hair can work but then we have the opposite issue with bangs braid being hard to make if the doll maker doesn’t have a solution for it. For the doll hair I have one solution idea that I’ll explain at the very end of the breakdown.

Drawing wise I haven’t gotten into my studies yet since school and no motivation is kicking me while I’m down. It’s not that I don’t want to or that I don’t have ideas it just I can’t make myself to anything without literally doing it last minute or weeks after the time I was hoping to do it. Why do I do this to myself like bruh. As for the braid thing! Let me draw something real quick,

The braid will go under the shirt fluffy side hair and around the head to the back. It’s pinned/tied to the center where it then goes into a braid that wraps back around to rest on the shoulder. This is the best I could come up with for resolving how to do that front braid. The hairstyle doesn’t make sense because that just means there’s one long chunk of hair but who cares about logic? Not me.

Bangs : Separate piece (not embroidered on) 🪼 Hair type : medium or short fur 🪼 Clothing : None of the pieces have any details that would require a custom order so it be easy to find premade doll clothes, only concern would be if you wanted the exact shade of red for the skirt to match the shoes 🪼 Issues that may happen : Since the eyes are unique you’d need to check a doll makers past works for similar cases, sometimes a see faces that are a little too low or high on the doll. Just something to look out for.

Drawing wise I wanted to do different kind of eyes, that’s kind of my goal for the next couple dolls now that I’m back from my long break. Also expression! I need to start practicing it more so I’ll probably be posting some studies in between dolls or with doll post. My anatomy needs work, not that these dolls are realistic but when I do the multi doll drawings I feel like I could do better with the 3d shapes of them. It’s not a top priority since I don’t plan on doing that type of doll post soon. Just something I’m noting.

My new format I think will be bangs, hair type, accessories, and concerns. Doll break down section is a work in progress.

When I was younger I thought the jack-o’-lanterns carved themselves. No, I did not think they grew with eyes and mouths since I’d seen the fields of pumpkins during fall. I legit just assumed the pumpkins did their own faces like you would makeup or hair.

I only ever knew the concept of giving the pumpkins a face from doing the paper craft in school. I thought that was the only way we’d be able to pick our own faces for the pumpkins cause why would we be doing it on paper if we were able to do it to real pumpkins.

I also thought that outside didn’t exist at night. Like if it was night outside that anywhere I could not see outside the window no longer existed. Day time was a different story. So the times I had to sleep at homes of relatives or family friends without my parents or siblings I just thought I couldn’t ask to leave. I have no idea why this was the way I interpreted it???

Death and someone being away are the same kind. I didn’t miss people for a long time. I knew the difference and still due, it’s just that my feelings are the same for both. I couldn’t miss either for a long time. Missing someone are moments of hollow in my chest that don’t happen often. The long sigh of an old dog as it lays down on the porch as bugs go by and the sun beams down to warm the ground, time going on now and after and forever.

Sometimes I’m confused on why I feel so much like me and other times like no one at all. Nothing at all. I could so easily stop existing and it be the same as many other moments. My eyes grow it nothing visual as my mind reaches to show me moments that I would not witness as a person. Moments in time where no eyes can watch. Like when I dream is how it appears in my head. And just in a moment, I’m back, standing in my door way. Moving on cause it’s the same as it will be all that time. It’s not scary, not peaceful either. It just how it is.

Some details aren’t the same.

Hair type : Doll hair (I can see this being done with fur but I like the doll hair shine). 🪼 Embroidery : I made the face not symmetrical, I always find it nice to add the shine coming from the same direction from a side angle. Front view limits what I can do. Not that I don’t like it. Also since there is no blending in the colors it would be possible. 🪼 Clothes : would have to be custom made with how unique they are. I’d say you could maybe find premade pieces that are similar but they’d need modifications. Bags are just generally a little hard to find. If you found a doll bag that was a good size made for other dolls then all you need to do is replace the strap. (It can be hard for over the shoulder cross body since the body and head are so puffy, it can be a squeeze. Having the strap come around back into a button or small Velcro connection point is good.) lots of craft stores cell small bows and you can sew/glue them on (hair clip bows for the hair). It’s pretty easy to paint white ribbon, most people use water downed acrylic paint but please look up tutorials for your specific ribbon type.

Drawing wise? I don’t have much comment this week. I’ve been trying to find some part time gig for the school semester. I got like 5 classes so I finding a thing that fits what I can do is tough. Hopefully I’ll succeed! I expecting to only be making 100 or so per week with how little time I have. Next post I’ll try doing a more in-depth drawing breakdown since I’ve been pretty loss with it recently. ONE THING THOUGH, want to be more me, like add more of my own touches. It’s just I feel like I need to find my style more? Maybe I already have it and just can’t see it but personally I want to be more bold.

Hair type: Doll hair *Being able to pin the hair out of the face would be good so doll hair instead of fur what be better. Preferably it wouldn’t be the silky kind but fluffy kind.* 🪼 Face embroidery: Blush swirl optional since I did that to see what it would look like. 🪼 Clothes: Hair pins can be purchased, baby doll dress would need to be commissioned. *I know this PC has other outfits that would be much easier to find premade pieces similar to them. Baby doll dresses in particular I have seen anything like it.*

Art wise it turned out well. I’m thinking of doing the exploring I was talking about last time since I’ve been getting antsy. I want to progress in terms of skill at a faster pace which isn’t something I’ve done before. I’m very slow and steady when doing things so the urge to start going faster has been… a challenge. I’ll still post dolls, trying to get to 100. But after 100 DOL related ones I might pivot?? Cause I need to be challenged. I’ll figure out the details after doll 60.

Tried to capture the look in PCs eyes, I found that part of em real charming!!

Doll break down below

Hair (Fur type) : Short-Medium 🪼 Embroidered or Separate bangs (piece of fabric that is cut out to be bangs and is not embroidered to the face) : Separate . Why? Bangs are over lapping eyes and due to my personal preference I think this would be better, this choice is dependent on what one personally thinks looks better .🪼 Clothes : I was taking forever due to procrastination and had to post it without jacket . The only item I think would be hard to get is the doll leather jacket since you’d need to either commission for one or spend a bit of time looking for premade ones (haven’t really seen any fake leather clothes for the cotton dolls that aren’t customs as of now personally) . Choker is something you could probably find, doll belts, small animal collars, self made, etc . All have different draw backs . I could give instructions on how to hand make the choker and many other accessories or start adding links to videos that would help with make them but it probably make a separate pinned post for that . Wouldn’t do it unless requested .

I’ve been doing some research on what I want to do next in terms of new drawings for the series (you can see examples when I do multiple of one persons characters) and I’ve been job hunting recently. Unfortunately I’m an anxious person so it’s been hard to find one that would fit and actually have the courage to apply. For this serious going on words I will be sniffing for OC/PCs in other fandoms and even doing some characters from the games of those fandoms. One I was interested in was ‘boyfriend to death’? I haven’t played it myself but I have seen many art of Ren and found him interesting. It’s gory, from my understanding. Or maybe ‘14 days with you’? Want to spice stuff up by looking outside the fandom I started with. Yknow? I’m thinking about going back to people I’ve plushie gunned before to either do their other OCs or redo the ones I’ve done. Some I’m happy with and some I think I could change a bit. Trying not to though since I’m saving those options for my polls for celebration of how many plushies of gunned.

Plushie hair for this baby, medium or short fur. Bangs a separate piece and not embroidered on. The darker stripes are for texture but if that was a detail someone wanted then this drawing wouldn’t be good reference. Doll design drawings need clear separation between colors, especially with hair. So I’d have to redo this drawing to better show where the darker color would connect. Face is all embroidery so if you want a gradient you’d be doing a transition of colors and no blending. Just lines of changing colors. I forgot to make the teeth outlines white as well. Outlines are just as important so make sure to carefully examine the colors of the design of the plushie, btw if you make your own sketch for the plush some doll makers will charge you less. Most charge for the design and making of the doll, certain features add on extra cost depending on the maker.

The way I colored today was different, want to try it again. Eyes I had to redo once, I’ve been getting better at looking at my art and scraping things. Want to do some shadow practice with the next one. Maybe some side lighting or back lighting? Neon lights? If I remember to and feel like it then I’ll do so.
