Nah the archangels fucking shit up w how it’s done that’s all

the tension around his limbs and wings were loosening, and his wings were eager to be free. they stretched further and further until that final snap and they spanned into their full glory. the beat of them blew away the loose debris surrounding both him and mrithun and raphael grasped atop those arms waiting for him. even with the exhaustion apparent on his face, his smile was still sweet and grateful. "thank you, love." his wings quickly settled behind and glamored themselves out of existence. no one truly ever wandered this far into his forest, but one couldn't ever be too careful. today was proof enough with the pests that terrorized and caused chaos within. raphael sucked in a breath and was immediately glancing down at his outer left thigh, where he knew had been injured. his pantleg was crusted over with bright ichor, the flesh underneath thankfully already healed and left with small bruising. grinning now, the angel giggled and looked up at his mate. "i'm okay now, thanks to my hero."

As a former angel who also probably gave too much of himself for the job, just to be kicked the second he fucked up, Mrithun very much understood the struggle. But also, as Raphael's current partner, he also didn't want his love to be putting himself through all that; it was only natural for him to be worried about him. But he could never be too harsh with other, he couldn't bring himself to be. Even now, hearing his words as he worked through freeing him from this viney trap, how could Mrithun be mad at him? He didn't want to make Raphael feel worse than how he probably was; and as the angel implied, if it was someone else to find him, they'd probably make it worse. "I think you most likely scolded yourself enough. I just wish you looked out for yourself more when I'm not around, is all." He hummed. When he eventually loosened all the vines that were holding on to his lover, Mrithun was ready to catch his lover in his arms in case he lost his footing, since he wasn't sure how long had he been here for. "Are you injured somewhere?"

"yes... why should you care?" he asked with a hollowed tone to his voice. a question he asked himself, and others, far too often. all that mattered was that he was present to the angels, that he was protecting them and leading them. he didn't need the care, or the tenderness others attempted to offer. even raphael's, he did his best to brush off, the angel simply never left his side. well, even that wasn't true. he had one time, and michael learned fast to not upset the healer since then. others remained at arms reach, or further. it was easier that way, safer that way.

long legs untangled from their tucked position and bare feet kissed the cool marble beneath him. his head tilted back against the head of the couch and he breathed deeply. "besides, leaving my place of duty simply because one of zachariel's children is a pest isn't much of an excuse." nothing ever was. he could be bleeding, dying, actually knocking on azriel's door, and it wouldn't be enough for him to stop fighting. the world still moved - it did when lucifer was sentenced, it would regardless of michael's health.

"i don't have that freedom that you and raphael do, child." to wander freely, cause trouble without care. rather, he had to clean up the messes, to fall in line where others could stray. he chuckled to himself, in this pathetic life drawn out for him. glory was wonderful, but it was equally a double-edged sword. he was the now the picture for a perfect angel, and not a single flaw could be revealed.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself now, nobody said anything about me caring about anything." Yeah, like how they never said anything about warming up to Zachariel, or Raphael... Or Mrithun... Or Jakah... Or--- Oh, you get the point! It wasn't all that hard to see through Nao, though. Even when they didn't say anything, it was rather easy to see how they felt about certain angels, other creatures and whatnot, especially if one knew them well enough.

"All I'm saying is that if you end up collapsing in the middle of something all the angels will start freaking out like idiots, and it'd be easy to blame me for something if you peaced out for a bit because I keep annoying you." Yes, they were very much aware that how they acted was infuriating. That was the point. If they couldn't get the higher-ups to be honest for once, then anger was one of the few things that couldn't be hidden. No matter how much one tries, the bubble always bursts.

"Or you can keep working your ass off until you breakdown. Why should I care what you decide to do to yourself?" And suddenly, the nearby trees turned out to be very interesting to look at. Yeah, they were probably going to get a scolding on how they talked later, whatever. Oh, there's some birds too! Oh, how nice it would be if their little crow friend were somewhere around right about now, too.

Also will say: adored kpop demon hunters. Was snuggled up this morning before pool activities watching it. Even as someone who’s more of an outside/baby kpop enjoyer, I adored it with all my heart and the story was so beautiful, the animation was so enjoyable too
