I don't even think they need to learn a whole different language fully in order to Converse with fans but they're literally in touch with ppl who talk English for soo long and I'm sure the English is getting a bit normalised in SK as well with the popularisation of k-pop and kdramas n all so with all that i expect them to be able to speak and understand English at some level like not expecting grammatically perfect english but still. I myself speak 3 different languages my dad can do 4 etc. mostly ppl here are either bilingual or trilingual and some can do more.

So many idols who aren't born korean or english countries have learned korean so well in such a short time like Lisa, Jackson, bambam etc. RM himself has learned it through series and reading. English is like my third language and i know I'm not good at it either but still it's somehow manageable that i can at least understand and speak to some degree.

They have So much love for the western culture and songs one would expect them to be somewhat more familiar with it by now.
