extrapolating from my joke tags on this post… thinking about eddie diaz who, once’s he’s realized he’s in love with buck, is immediately so sure of their relationship he starts saying the most out of pocket shit before they’re actually together. they have a sex injury call at work, and he says under his breath to buck, “we are not trying that one.” buck chuckles nervously, thinking obviously eddie just misspoke. surely he doesn’t mean the two of them having sex together, he just means — actually he needs to stop thinking about eddie and sex altogether. the next shift ravi is talking about someone new he’s just started dating, and asks eddie if he’s back on the dating scene now that he’s back in la for good. eddie shakes his head and says, “nah, don’t think someone here would like that very much” and winks at buck. who splutters with a red face like “why—why would i care, you should do whatever—date whoever you want, eddie, i don’t. i don’t care.” and eddie just smiles and says, “oh i will, don’t worry.”

then next shift they’re talking about weddings for some reason. and someone asks eddie where his dream honeymoon would be, since he and shannon never really got to have one. and without missing a beat eddie says, “we haven’t really talked about it yet, but i know buck’s always wanted to go to new zealand.” and buck trips so bad over a hose he has to go to the hospital

the fucking coffin in minnesota. THE FUCKING COFFIN IN MINNESOTA. oh my god. i realize there's people that found that deserved since that's where bobby's first children were buried, and that's a valid positive read on it but the decision just smells to me like "ok now let's go back to your real family :)". guess what -- bobby also has family in la!! he built a life there, his whole story was about finding a second chance. it's such an absolute disservice to not allow even a smidge of a remain of bobby to keep in la. the old house burned down. the new house was sold off. bobby's body was sent to minnesota. a baby and a station named after him mean nothing.

the tragedy of buddie is that buck, who has little to no idea what he’s feeling 90% of the time, has multiple people in his life who are willing to tell him point-blank that there may realistically be something going on between him and his best friend, while eddie, who would happily be kissing buck up against a wall right now if only he knew it was possible, does not

They beefed Bobby’s funeral so badly back in May that in October they’re going to try to fix it by doing this big memorial as the opener and do a Bobby montage and do stories and grief and it’s like. Why didn’t you do this his actual funeral. Why did you waste precious time on a dead baby. When you could have done this instead. They beefed it so badly that over five months later they’re going to try to fix it and it’s not going to work. Me and Susan from Kenosha both have Hammers and Axes and are Getting Tim Minear’s Ass over this.

as optimistic as I remain about other aspects of the show. well there is something genuinely and surreally comical about how Tim Minear bragged that killing off Bobby was all his idea and absolutely everyone fought him on it but he knew better, proceeded to get the worst critical and fan reception of his life after going through with it, and then completely disappeared for almost 3 months after a bizarre funeral episode he co-wrote where almost nobody who loved Bobby talked about him or with each other and there was a distracting side plot about how you shouldn’t believe in miracles and every other season storyline got derailed and hastily wrapped up and all the characters got pushed forward in time and towards the moving on stage before the audience was even able to really properly process anything and the cast got cornered having to answer all the questions about it and be diplomatic. and now he’s back saying well we want to honor Bobby’s sacrifice and pay homage to the character’s legacy. Awesome dude do you know when would have been an ideal time to do that
