Those are AMAZING cq lines. I want to comment on them but aaah character limit on asks XD I’ve always been struck by his speech to Tubbo about not trusting anyone (“Trust NO ONE but yourself, don’t even trust me. Your word is the last word.”) coupled with Tubbo later on ignoring it and verbally swearing trust to Tommy. Tubbo’s devotion got him killed (nuke), but Quackity’s way of doing things got him killed, too, and he ultimately chose relationships in the end with the chests. SUPER interesting

oooooooh that's a really good one too!! :o some classic cquackity projection-- he genuinely cares about tubbo, albeit dysfunctionally, and the best way he can express that is by giving him the advice q wishes he'd gotten. but tubbo rejects it-- which in a way is trusting himself, and his own judgment-- which is a super powerful moment for his character, and though it takes him a little bit in the end q comes around and sees that he was wrong. of course it doesn't really end up working out for any of them, which is maybe a criticism of nuke ending (though i tend to be a defender), but when Everyone gets blown up just the same it becomes kind of a wash, story arc-wise [shrug] so i still really like the way their characters progressed!

(same anon) ANYWAY enough sad stuff - i’ve been told by your ask box to talk to you about cquackity. what is a line from him that still makes you insane even now, years later?

oooooh boy okay WELL. >:) i'm going to pick two for different reasons

first: "i take care of those who take care of me. why do you think i have no one around?" because wow what a soul-baring moment from someone who tries his best to have as few of them as possible! while it's a little too self-absolving to be truly objective, it's a really sad look into things from his perspective-- here is someone who has been so continuously let down and hurt and abandoned by the people he loves and is so bitter about it that it's easier see relationships as a whole as a transaction (that way he can still maintain a bit of control) and just go fine, fuck it. if you won't give me anything, i won't give you anything either. and i don't need it anyway

second: "are you ready to try your luck?" because, aside from being biased because it's the title of my beloved character playlist for him, i think it's a really snappy and succinct expression of his character as a whole! he's always aimed high, ambitious to the core, and although more often than not he ends up losing-- as someone not particularly physically skilled in an environment where that's so valuable-- he will always always pick himself up and try again, because one of these times he'll get lucky and the cards will fall in the right way, he'll land on top and then it'll all be worth it. so hit me, hit me, hit me, hit me, hit me--

Hey I haven’t kept up with your blog in a while, but I thought of you a lot during the george stuff. I’m really glad that you got some time away and I wish the dteam fandom didn’t have to go through the wringer so much.
