wake up super early just once. you don’t have to make it a habit it’s just extra satisfying to go to bed that night

Every time I post about abortion I always get some who say “stop pushing your religious beliefs on others” or “stop being so political.” For one, this is a Christian account so why would I not be posting about what the Bible says about life and murder? Secondly though, abortion is a human rights issue because every time it kills an innocent human being. My brothers and sisters in Christ! Our God is omnipresent and omnipotent and omniscient. He is in all places!!!! On that same note, the Holy Spirit resides in us believers and anywhere else we choose to invite it. This means when you sing this song, the Holy Spirit answers your prayer!! aka as you sit in the DMV or in class or at the grocery store, our Father God is as present as the air you breathe and the Holy Spirit floods your surroundings like liquid fills a cup. Imagine the places you go often that you don’t deem necessarily holy: school, work, your favorite coffee shop, filling with the Holy Spirit after this sweet little prayer. Imagine the lives that could be changed by cleansing the atmosphere and allowing the Spirit to work in the environment around you. Jesus can draw people in with simply a “vibe” Christians give off!!!! Imagine being able to extend the reach of that beautiful joyful charisma!!!!! The intimacy we experience as Christians being able to live in such communion with our loving Father is a blessing very few of us acknowledge and take advantage of in our day to day lives!!!! Tonight i challenge you to 1. talk to God like He’s really there (because He is) not like you’re writing a letter in your mind to some far off diety- this means eyes open and words out loud, no special vocabulary and no bowed head. approach your Father with boldness and confidence because he is our Friend.* and 2. take a moment to delight in the simple prayer of the song I referenced in the beginning. Sing it in your car, in the halls at school, or at the park. Feel the negativity leave the space and rejoice in the presence of our graceful God.

*I do believe there is a time for formal prayer but I also believe there is a time to address God as our Father and Friend. God has many wonderful attributes, and as humans we cannot fathom the complexity of his nature. but as Christians we are able to come before God with confidence knowing he loves us as our Father and wants to hear about our day and have a conversation with us as our Friend!!!

Honestly? I mess up daily. I’ve failed God more times than I can count. But in spite of everything, all my shortcomings and every misstep, He’s never given up on me. Not once. God sees the darkest parts of our hearts and He loves us still. Even when we stumble and fall, He picks us up, dusts us off, and pursues us to the end. He’s making us into who we were always meant to be and that gives me so much hope.
