Caleb | Interstellar
-----
This was inspired by the song in the beginning of Caleb's limited myth, because it sounded like part of it was a Cornfield Chase sample. (This is the audio in the first clip of the edit.)

Introduction
..••°°°°••....••°°°°••....••°°°°••..
The rural midwestern USA doesn't have much that is exciting to do, but life is homey and comfortable with your small circle of family and friends. Growing up, you made a few friends at the school you attended in the suburbs of the nearby city. However, the ones that mattered the most were a little closer to home.
School was a 30 minute drive out from the house, and it was often hard to hang out with school friends that lived in the opposite direction. Your rural home was part of a small farming community on the outskirts of town, and you prioritized playtime with your friends that lived down the street from you. After all, you grew up together.
Little Annie across the road was the girl that always had your back. Only a year younger than you, she was the daughter of cattle farmers and always proudly declared her goal to become a veterination when she grows up. She spent much of her free time around animals and often showed you how to take care of them like she does. Her hair was always tied into twin braids adorned with ribbons, and she loved to wear pretty dresses.
Most important of all, though, was the boy that lived a mile down the road. As the son of a family with a large crop farm, he was often busied with helping his father in the fields and aimed to be a crop plane pilot someday. Caleb was a year older than you and always slightly taller than you, which admittedly made you a little jealous. His fluffy, long brown hair grazed his shoulders and his light brown eyes shone a hint of purple in the sun. Caleb always had the brightest smile when you showed up at his house to play. From the day you met, he tended to you like a little sister and vowed to be your protector.
While wandering through the woods, he would hold your hand.
While learning how to swim, he would gently hold you by the waist and teach you to float.
While eating lunch at school, he would notice you sitting alone and keep you company.
His kindness did not keep him from the vying eyes of jealous schoolgirls, always wishing to hold his hand just once, to eat with him just once, and maybe to steal a kiss. Even so, Caleb never batted an eye.
Your relationship with the boy always felt comforting and sibling-like. That is, until you began to grow older, and he still did the things he always did. His small actions began to make your heart flutter and you wondered if he shared the sentiment. You couldn't put words to the feeling until something clicked on a warm and breezy summer afternoon at a backyard pool party.
