I don’t understand why so many leftist bloggers have been dismissing Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election and Trump’s likely connection to the interference.
First, they denied it happened and claimed it was a liberal conspiracy to shift the blame for Clinton losing the election from the Democratic Party onto a foreign power. Now that incontrovertible evidence has emerged, they’re claiming it’s a distraction from injustice in the US that predates Trump.
I can care about terrible things the US has done past and present AND a corrupt foreign government meddling in our elections. I can be appalled that Trump is visibly worsening things here while observing that there were deep-seated problems in the US before he took office. Both can be true at the same time.
I don’t know if this attitude among some of the Tumblr left stems from a misguided affinity for Russia for once being communist (it no longer is in any sense of the word, and the Soviet Union didn’t embody progressive values to say the least, but that’s a whole other discussion), or just if it’s just the latest “radical” Tumblr hot take, but it’s stupid.

Idk if I want to celebrate the 4th of July. It’s cool to be with friends and family and all, but tbh this is a pretty sucky country. We have children being separated from their parents and put in cages, our president is a dumbass and he has so many little minions that the rest of us are drowned out. I’m not entirely sure, but I think he passed a law that trans people can’t join the military? Idk, I just don’t want to celebrate a country that’s been led down the wrong path.
(Sorry I’m not posting all of your messages just bc I don’t want make a really long post) But yes, it’s difficult to come to terms with the fact that this country has always been built off of the suffering of others. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to celebrate, you’re certainly not alone in that. I would say if you celebrate anything today, celebrate the people who have been repeatedly pushed down by this country that continue to fight for their rights, no matter how difficult and dangerous that may be. Those are the only people worth celebrating today.

I’m watching Tau on Netflix and I had low expectations but I’m halfway through and it’s about a woman who is kidnapped and tortured by a “super intelligent and aloof” white man who needs her to collect data for an AI. She just treats the AI with decency and omg I hope in the end they kill him because both of them are prisoners. Also, they could become besties and I’d be 110% into that.

“We grow up, and we become our own creators.”
It’s a surprisingly nice and rather deep message inside just a little Netflix sci-fi film. Seriously, go watch Tau. It’s great!

Please help me out :•/
I hate asking for help, but right now I really could use help with money. Last week my roommate got a ridiculous $500 ticket for passing a truck on a narrow road and today the hood on his car came unlatched, smashing his windshield, which we’re not sure is going to be covered by his insurance and that may cost him another grand. Last month I lost my job (it’s a long and very frustrating story,) and I am currently working my ass off trying to find another job and plan on riding my bike to the next town over to apply in person at a bunch of places this week if I can get more resumes printed, but even if I got hired tomorrow, I wouldn’t have my full half of rent, which my roommate needs by June 5th, no exceptions.
Right now as it stands, I need about $475 to pay rent, my phone bill, and to get a bus pass to the next town. I would offer art commissions but right now I’m far too stressed and busy trying to find a job to do that right now and my mental health right now is not great and I’ve been in an art block for months.
There’s several ways you can donate!!!
My Paypal is [email protected] My Cash app username is $minavh My Venmo is also minavh
I understand if you can’t donate, but even a dollar really helps!!! Anything you can spare is deeply appreciated!! <3

lesbian: while straight women can be vile and homophobic, sometimes i feel genuine sadness for them because they put up with so much from men, especially when it comes to misogyny and power imbalances within relationships. they don’t realize that they could be living much happier lives without being held down by men. this happier life doesn’t have to include loving a woman, that isn’t the point i’m trying to make. but a happier life includes freedom from men. straight women don’t understand that they don’t have to settle, which they are constantly being told to do by society. women are taught that their lives must revolve around men, if their happiness and being with a man contradict each other, then their happiness be damned. straight women will put their own well-being aside in order to please men and this is a major problem
weirdos on tumblr dot hell who get off on comparing lesbians to straight men: just say you wanna force straight women to have sex with you lol lesbian incel
