Hi Thranduil! This is Opal, from the HoH. I just wanted to say thanks for your help. I told the kids to stop, and they did! Hey, I was wondering, what does Mellon nin mean? Thanks again for your help!
Dear Opal
I am glad that the advice you were given in HoH helped you a lot. I cannot accept your gratitude however, as it is a different incarnation of myself that helps people needing aid there.
'Mellon nin' in the Sindarin tongue simply means 'my friend.' So for example 'Mae govannen mellon nin' would translate as 'Welcome my friend.'
I hope this helps and should you need any further tuition in the tongue of my people, then do not hesitate to ask.
Until we speak again, mellon nin

Thorin, it's M!! It's been so long since we've spoken! I had some great news I wanted to share with you! Last month, I met a young man and we've spent a lot of time with each other over the last month and now we're together! I am SO happy with him! He is like me in so many ways, it seems like we're almost the same person sometimes! He's wonderful to me, he treats me with great love and respect...I am the happiest I've ever been! :D I hope that you are happy, too, with things in your life :) ~M
Dearest M How grand it is to hear from you again! I often wondered how you were faring after all the extraordinary changes in your life that you have told me about before now. It is good to hear that you are doing well. My, my...this is exciting news. To find a worthy partner is a rare occurrence in any life time and should always be treasured. It lightens my heart to hear of the joys you are experiencing with this young man. I sincerely hope that the both of you find continued happiness in one another for really, is there any greater treasure on this earth than to love and be loved in return? I am honoured that you would want to share this happy news with me. May Durin watch over you both and may he shower you with blessings.Until we speak again. Your friend, Thorin Oakenshield

King Thranduil, were you ever in love with anyone that wasn't Legolas' mum? Before or after her leaving?
Dearest AnonWe elves only bond once in our long lifetimes. Love is not a fleeting thing among my people and although we may hold a lot of love in our hearts, we only share that love in it's entirety once. For me, my wife and queen was my one and only and she will always be so. I believe that one day, we shall be reunited. Yours faithfully,Thranduil, King of the Woodland Realm

Thranduil, I have come here because I just really like a boy and I'm just on cloud nine and I can't seem to come down! He's so sweet and into all the same things as me, and he's genuinely concerned for me and ugh I just really like him, and he likes me too! Unfortunately, distance is preventing things at the moment, but I won't give up on me and him! Thanks for listening haha!
Dear AnonIt is good to hear of mortal joys. May this young man bring you much more happiness in coming days. As for the future, we elves do believe in fate and destiny. Should this relationship be deemed fruitful by the Valar then, nothing shall stop it from flourishing. I can always make time to listen, friend.Yours faithfullyThranduil, King of the Woodland Realm

Greetings Alexis
I do not believe I have ever been addressed so enthusiastically. That took me quite by surprise! Is it human custom to greet one another in this way? If that is the case…
ALEXIS, ALEXIS ALEXIS ALEEEEEEEXIS!!!
I hope that was correct.

Kili, I happen to be starting High school this week and I'm actually somewhat excited about it? Like I didn't think I'd be this excited. It's like ??? When did I want to go to school. Elem. and Middle were kind of hell, but somehow think High school will be better..
Hello anon. There's nothing wrong with being excited for school! Knowledge is a powerful thing and should be enjoyed by all. Chances are high school will be better. You will meet new people, have more freedom, and learn many new things. Enjoy it! I'm sure you will have many successes this year!~Kili

King Thranduil: Guess who's starting her high school next week? It's an art school so I get to do something that I love. I'm kind of scared and excited at the same time. Just felt like coming by and telling this to someone!
Dearest friend
It lightens my heart to hear of someone so happy and more so, happy in pursuing creative arts. We elves enjoy creative pursuits and I often marvel at the talents of humans. I am sure that you will produce some wondrous projects that you will be proud to show off, especially knowing that they have been inspired by your passion for the discipline.
It is natural to be scared and excited at the same time. This is a big step in your life. I think you will find that it is a good kind of fear though - fear of something unknown but also something filled with so much potential too. I wish you all the luck in the world and thank you for sharing your news with me. Please do keep me informed of your progress.

It's Lise again! I just found out my grandma will probably keep little Puppy-Frodo, because he has a soft spot on his head and she doesn't trust anyone with him. I guess you both have your battle scars then- One more similarity! And you are definitely all those things Frodo, and more. You and Sam are the only two that keep my massive fear of spiders at bay. ^_^ ~Lise
Adding on the the message about Puppy-Frodo, I just found out that my grandmother will most likely keep him because he has a soft spot on his head, and he is super small. No longer than the length of my foot and 3/4 the height of a water bottle! I took pictures if you can for any, I kinda want to show him off. I guess you both have your battle scars then- One more similarity.
Hello again, Lise.
I’m sorry that your grandmother will be keeping the puppy. Maybe you could find another puppy for yourself. I’m sure you’d be just find with Puppy-Frodo, though I understand why she wants to keep him.
Battle scars….I suppose I do. I don’t like thinking or talking about it, but I know I do. Sam would tell you I have many. I can hear him saying it right now, all about how I have them both on the inside and outside. Maybe one day they will heal, but I don’t know if they will.
I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to burden you with all that. On another subject, I’m glad that Sam and I can keep you fear of spiders at bay. I can’t say I’m fond of them.
Thank you for all the kind words, Lise.
May the Valar watch over you.

Good afternoon, dear Pippin. How was your day? Maybe it will be morning again by the time my message arrives but that doesn't matter :) I don't have much to say but i just wanted to stop by and say hi to you. Lots of love from Laura
Hello Laura!
My day has been lovely. Spent my time making mischief with Merry as usual. It’s almost time for supper now though. I must be off to the Green Dragon! I promised Merry and Sam that I would be there!
How was your day, my friend?
Until next time,
Pippin

Hi Frodo! This might sound odd, but my uncle breeds Yorkshire Terriers (safely and professionally) and my grandma sells them here. Today she brought the tiniest little boy, and while his official name is "Booboo", I will always call him "Frodo", because he is tiny like a hobbit, brave, shy, kind, and adventurous. The tiniest girl is officially named "Rosie", which I pitched in after you, Mrs. Gamgee. ^_^ ~Lots of love, Lise
Hello Lise,
Well, I am very flattered that you named your dog Frodo! It’s not odd at all. In fact, it’s very kind of you. I’m not sure if I’m truly all that you say, but I do appreciate the sentiment. I will pass along that the other dog is called Rosie to Sam’s Rosie. I’m sure she will be very flattered too.
May the Valar watch over you.

Thorin! It means so much to me to hear that you admire me, in a way. I like to believe that I have a good heart. I love helping people, it's very fulfilling and it makes me happy knowing that I'm making others happy. I'm sure that's something you strive to do as well, I would imagine :) ~M
Dearest M
Truly if there were more people like you in this world, there would be infinitely less misery and no cause for war.
I am honoured that you see me as someone on par with you. It is true that I try my best for my people but I would be lying if I said that I always had their best interests at heart. Sometimes I often feel like material goods or irrelevant matters take precedence over the truly important things. This is what I must rectify to be a truly wise and just king. I hope that it is a lesson I am capable of learning.
In the mean time my friend, continue as you are. You do have a good heart and your desire to help people is a rare quality that must always be nurtured. I wish you all the best and your continued success.
Until we speak again, take care.

Hi Pippin! There's a place in New Zealand which looks exactly like Hobbiton, there is even a Green Dragon! I went to the fair yesterday and it was lovely. Have you ever been to a fair? Lots of love from Laura
Hullo Laura!
A Green Dragon!? Well I am going to have to visit this New Zealand place with Merry. I’m sure we would have a wonderful time.
We have many fairs here in Hobbiton and I go to all of them. There is always good food, and you know I wouldn’t miss that for anything! I also enjoy the sense of community that the fairs bring to Hobbiton. We all feel a little closer to each other after a good day at the fair.
I look forward to hearing from you again soon!

(the message for Thorin from M was supposed to be anonymous, I was sending the message through my friend's account and forgot to ask in anon :P )
Dear M
It most certainly sounds like you have a meaningful life mapped out for yourself - an admirable quality. I know that even though I knew I always had a legacy to live up to, I often doubted my abilities in succeeding. As for my nephews, I am sure that they do not know what each day will bring. It is too exhausting for them to comprehend what the future could hold.
I am in awe of your dedication to helping people. You must have a genuinely kind heart. To invest your time to helping those in need is certainly something to be proud of. I truly wish you all the best in the future, my friend.

Hi Pippin! How are you? The first day at my new job was great, i had a lot of fun and my co-workers are very nice. I actually got this job to save money for a trip to New Zealand. You have probably never heard of it but it is really beautiful 1/3
And it is kinda similar to Middle-Earth. The last few days the weather has been very lovely and i was thinking about hobbit feet XD Isn’t it very warm to have such hairy feet in summer? Oh, and what is your favourite meal of the day? Love Laura PS. Sorry for the weird questions, they just randomly pop into my head.
——————————————————————————————————————-
Hullo Laura,
I’m doing wonderful myself; having lots of fun here in the Shire with Merry. I’m glad to hear that your first day went well! New Zealand sounds like a wonderful place! Is it similar to the Shire? You will have to tell me about your trip!
It does get a little warm in the summer with my hairy feet, but I have gotten used to it over the years. It doesn’t get overly hot here, so we Hobbits can manage.
My favorite meal… There are so many to choose from. I do enjoy second breakfast, but I love dinner as well. I love all the meals actually! It’s too hard to choose a favorite! And do not be sorry for your questions; I enjoy answering them!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Pippin

Hello, Thorin! It's M again! It's been some time since we've spoken! How is everything going for you? I hope life is treating you well and that your nephews aren't giving you too much trouble! Things haven't been too bad for me, lately. A couple weeks ago, I had my graduation that I told you about! My family, my grandparents and my best friend all came, it was wonderful! Now I am finished with my schooling, which brings me great relief! :) I hope to hear from you soon!
Dear M
Apologies for my delayed response. It would seem that running a kingdom does not come with many days off. It is very good to hear from you again. I am delighted to hear about your successful graduation. I can imagine that it was quite a celebratory day for you and rightly so. From what you have told me, you deserve every happiness after all the hard work you have invested. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the day. I bet you will remember the day for as long as you can. So what happens next? What does life hold for you next my friend?
Life is treating me well enough. I cannot complain. It has been exceedingly busy and my nephews are as troublesome as ever but in truth, I would have them no other way. At least they keep me on my toes. Perhaps they will settle into Erebor soon enough but the place is like one undiscovered adventure for them both. It is no unusual thing for them to disappear for days on end while they explore.
I look forward to hearing from you soon, dearest M.

Hello Kili. Thank you for your prompt response. I guess I would be considered average-looking, but I imagine that I would be way too tall. I'm as tall as an elf, if I had to compare. Actually, I might look a little more elvish than I thought.
Hello dear.
I am sure you would make a beautiful elf! But remember, elves are more than beauty. While dwarves and elves don’t tend to get along, it would be wrong of me to deny their wisdom and intelligence. That said, I am very sure you are as wise as you are fair.
-Kili
