Rosa looked up and grinned at her mother. She had never been afraid of talking to Evelyn about anything, and maybe that wasn't always a good thing, but she liked how open she could be. "It's a bodice-ripper," she replied. "I wanted to try something with a historical setting. "'Sup, boss," Rosa greeted, sliding into the seat next to Joey. She hadn't bothered to get changed since her last routine, slipping on a silk robe and grabbing a drink from the bar before going to mingle with her coworkers, or in this case, her boss. She wasn't sure if he was technically her boss, but he was the Talent Manager, and she was talent, so it was close enough. "So, how are you? You weren't at the lake for the whole giant tentacle situation, were you? I left early, but I heard about it from my best friend."

It wasn't unusual to run into someone on their way into the commune when you were on your way out. In fact, that was one of Rosa's favourite things about living there, even when it resulted in her almost walking right into Elias Cooper of all people. Laughing slightly, she stepped to the side to let him pass by before offering him a bright smile. "Hey, sorry about that," she greeted cheerfully. "You coming to visit someone?"

"I don't know whether to be relieved or disappointed that I left early," Rosa replied, tapping her chin as she considered it. "I mean, obviously, it sounds super horrifying and nightmare inducing, so I'm mostly relieved. But it's kind of a 'you had to see it to believe it' kinda situation, you know?" She paused. "I'm really happy you're alright, though. I'm pretty sure I would actually go insane if I didn't have you around."

Rosa was born to first generation Serbian immigrants. Prior to having her, her mother had experienced repeated miscarriages, and had all but given up hope that she would ever be able to conceive. Being their only child—and a rainbow baby at that—made Rosa's parents extremely overprotective of her, and even as she grew older and more independent, they had a hard time accepting that she wasn't their little girl anymore.

Partially because of how controlling they were, she was extremely shy and withdrawn growing up and remained a total wallflower throughout middle school and into high school. She only had a few friends, and spent most of her time trying to make herself as unnoticeable as possible. Of course, that didn't stop her from going through the cliché of having a crush on a jock who didn't know that she existed, but she couldn't really blame him for that—she was practically invisible, and that was by design.

She was sixteen years old when the storm hit. Her parents died in the first week of the paradox, before the protection rune had been discovered; and while she mourned their death, there was a small part of her that was also relieved to be free of them. She was taken in by Evelyn Montgomery, and it was under her care, mentorship, and guidance that Rosa began to come out of her shell. It was from her adoptive mother that she picked up a love of writing, spending nights pouring over the pages of Evelyn's past writing that she was shown, and eventually starting to create works of her own.

Nowadays, she is very outgoing, opinionated, and almost embarrassingly blunt. She loves being around people, and it is because of her dramatically increased social need that she decided to move into the commune, although she still visits her mom several times a week. She writes erotica for a living, happily taking requests and commissions from people, and has also become a regular dancer at Sammie's since it opened.

As Trixie broke down, Lance felt another surge of adrenaline. He hated to see her cry, but he couldn't blame her, either. She had been scared. He let out a sound of confirmation, carefully winding his arm around her waist, slowly staring to guide her away from the lake and back towards the Vos house.

"Okay; home it is. I'll be staying," he quickly clarified. "But we'll get you home, check in with Chandler, and hog the shower before Fox gets home and probably wants to rise off too." He hugged her closer to him, hoping his closeness would help her feel a little better. "Everyone's safe, Trix. It'll be okay."

I know he's smart enough than to put himself in any real trouble, especially with both me and his boyfriend here. We can go grab your sister though, if you want. I won't drop you."
