Title: Curtain Fall (Tow The Line: Part 3)

It had been at least 2 weeks since word of Hixel's death came around. At least Calvin thought it had been 2 weeks, but he'll check on that later he said to himself as Calvin was far more curious of how and why Hixel died.

He had heard that either Mr sandman or Mr shortcake knew something about it. Although Calvin would much rather talk to Mr sandman, he had no idea where he is or if he's even in the right state of mind. So, He begrudgingly went to find Mr Shortcake.

Calvin: "*Thinking* Ugh, can't believe he is the only one I can talk to about this. Cause I doubt Meringue or Grandma would know anything about it."

Calvin headed to the most likely area of Mr Shortcake's whereabouts, The playcare. Calvin was also heading there because of his Caretaker duties, so really he was knocking two birds with one stone. Although it would take hours of playing and performing for the orphans before Mr Shortcake would finally make an appearance.

Calvin: "*Sighs* Shortcake? Can I talk to you?"

This instantly caught Mr Shortcake off guard, cause Calvin rarely talked to him unless it was a scolding for upsetting Meringue.

Shortcake: "🩵Ummm... Everything alright?🩵"

Calvin: "Okay, so this has been bugging me so I'll just cut to the chase. How exactly did Hixel die?"

Mr Shortcake didn't respond, they seemed upset.

Mr Shortcake: "🩵 Well it's quite graphic...🩵🩷Not to mention all of Maria's fault. Anyway I'm done talking about it🩷"

Calvin: "Maria? Huh, Haven't seen her in a while."

Mr Shortcake: "*talking to himself*🩷If she doesn't come back the four leaders are as good as dead.🩷"

Calvin heard this however, if it was true then that meant one of his closest friends, Mommy long legs, would die. As the thought swirled in his head, the lights on his outer face wildly flickered and glitched from a sombre blue to a haunting purple to a fierce red. Until Calvin had an idea, He knew that Maria was somewhat friends with Caleb. If he captured Caleb, Maria would surely come crawling back for him. As the idea for this sparked and formed his outer face finally settled, but only on a new color that being a sickly yellow.

Calvin: "*Laughs eerily* Looks like I've got an orphan to fetch. Looks like I'll have to leave Meringue with Grandma for a while."

Calvin said to himself

Mr Shortcake: "🩵What did you say..?🩵"

Calvin: "Oh, nothing to worry about Shortcake. Just a task I just remembered so I'll just write it down. Oh and thanks for the info."

He said, as his wrote it down in a notebook. Though the strange and eerie color on his face didn't shift. But For now he had an idea, a somewhat awful idea but for the first time he didn't care. He'd protect the ones he cares about, No matter who he has to hurt to protect them.

Calvin side story - Part 2

Title:

Stop This Train (Tow The Line Part 2)

Takes place 6 days before the canon story

Calvin always has Meringue. It was pretty common knowledge at this point. The two were almost always seen together, inseparable even. Though today might have been a little bit different. As yesterday Meringue had a bizarre request.

Calvin: “You want to have a joy ride, on the train?”

Meringue: “Yeah! It seems so fun!”

Calvin: “*sighs* Look Meringue, buddy, no has used that train in years, not when there's an elevator, besides that's in the game station and the game station is Mommy's place to calm down at, I really don't think she would appreciate us going there just to ride the train that might not even work anymore.”

After that, Calvin thought that was the end of it and went to sleep with Meringue at his lap. But when he awoke, Meringue was no where to be seen. No worries he was probably just getting himself breakfast. So Calvin went on, and began his caretaker duties though it seemed even more tiring then usal. That's when Calvin noticed that he hadn't seen Meringue all day. It was starting to become worrisome, and he began to panic and search frantically. But when he came back empty handed Calvin was distraught, what if something bad had happened to Meringue?

Sahara: "It will be okay sweetheart. You'll find him"

Although the words of comfort from Calvin's grandmother only seemed to soothe his nerves a little bit but not a lot.

A few hours would go by, and still no sign of Meringue. Until Calvin then felt a pat on his antenna.

Mommy: “I believe this one belongs to you, Calvin."

She then hands Meringue to Calvin, clearly not happy in the slightest. Although it brought relief to Calvin, it also brought slight anger as he put the pieces together. Meringue had disobeyed him and went to ride on the train anyway. Although he couldn't bring himself to scold the kolola bear as Meringue carried a guilt filled look on his face, Calvin tried to suppress the anger boiling inside him though the lights on his outer face kept flickering between his usual joyful green and a harsh rage filled red. After Calvin lightly told off Meringue he passed him off to Sahara the Slime gal and went to the theater. Once there his rage could finally be let out, as he screamed out of anger, his face plates opening showing off his true organic face as metal tendrils swirled and writhed wildly at the air. A few moments pass. Calvin then thinks, Meringue is too short to operate the elevator to get, to the game station. He would have needed help, But who would help him? Obviously toys like Cinnatart and Mr shortcake, could be ruled out instantly. So who would help Meringue? Hopefully whoever it was doesn't dare do it again. Calvin lost Meringue once, He won't lose him again, it would hurt him too much.
