Angela spoke a little about 9-1-1 and season 9 on GMA this morning.
ā€œdo you know what’s next for your character, athena?ā€
ā€œhe’s being very vague. they’re being very vague.ā€

I actually can't get past the lack of respect shown to Peter Krause throughout this mess.
This isn't just a character who was in the show for a couple of episodes. No, this was the male lead, who has led the show proudly for eight seasons and is the literal heart of it - and who DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE.
But yet the show decided to do the following:
His death is so poorly written and rushed, that no-one is actually convinced that he's gone because of the multiple plot holes
The funeral was a mere footnote in an episode, where the main plot was a storyline that took the mick out of the fans, and the funeral scenes itself were less than five minutes long in total
Not to mention said funeral was leaked ahead of time with little to no effort it seems to stop this from happening
Created a very similar storyline in "Hotshots" and used this as a way to mock the fans
Only let Peter do the one exit interview and even that was just a two-minute pre-recorded interview
The Bobby Nash tribute video gets deleted off all of the show's social media
Oliver Stark also deletes his tribute to Peter Krause from IG
Peter Krause is referred to merely as "collateral damage" by Tim Minear
There's apparently been no wrap party for Peter, to say goodbye or pay tribute to him and his work on the show
Not to mention (again), no tribute to him on the show's social media
Pretty much have written him completely out of the show in terms of selling the Bathena house and burying him away from LA
No montage in the show to pay tribute to Bobby - even Michael Grant got a better send off and his actor was actively suing the show at the time of his departure
Allowed two cast members to leak a script onto their socials which teased Bobby returning, and for the actual scene to follow this script until literally the last bit, so no-one actually knows if this was fake or real [this is a belated edit]
Two days before the season finale, they use a poster with both Angela and Peter on it at Disney Upfront, therefore getting everyone's hopes up again that he's still on the show (& reminding everyone that he is literally one of the draws of this show lol) [another belated edit, thanks to @otherworldlydragon for pointing this out!]
Ryan Guzman only paying tribute to Pete/Bobby with a couple of memey stories [another edit, as pointed out by @captainbobbynash118]
It's all done so badly, that you can't help but think that maybe something has gone on behind the scenes - but Pete seems universally loved by his fellow cast-mates and the crew, and most of them have been just as distraught as the fans with him leaving (Kenny and Angela in particular).
Maybe it's just inexperience; you can tell that this show has never killed off a main character before with how much they've fumbled this.
The way Peter/Bobby has been treated is nothing short of insulting, disrespectful and baffling; he deserved better than this.
Peter - I’m so sorry this has happened and whilst I’m gutted to see you no longer as Cap, I can’t wait to see you truly thrive under a new project, with writers who will truly respect you.

Whelp, that’s me done with 9-1-1.
For one, I don’t like the direction the show has gone in and will be going in from now on - but not only have they seriously queerbaited the fanbase but THATS the send off they give Peter Krause?? The literal male lead from the very beginning and his ā€œtributeā€ been nothing but an insulting mess since?
Fuck you, Tim Minear. Truly have shown throughout the latter part of s8 how little he cares for the fans, and that will be his downfall.
Someone come get me if they somehow bring Bobby back in season 9 when their ratings are tanking and they need to do something drastic but otherwise, I’m actually done with this show

- the seismic shift when buck asks bobby for a sign + buck can’t feel bobby’s spirit
- the reappearance of the blue lady from the ā€œchristmas spiritā€ episode - the same episode in which:
• bobby bled from his nose because of that ā€œfalloutā€ incident, and it ended with him being okay and healthy
• eddie and hen were having a heart-to-heart conversation at eddie’s house (their talks are so rare that it’s worth mentioning)
• eddie smiles while looking at chris and buck in his living room
• the scene with eddie’s abuela, buck, and eddie where buck gives chris a christmas present (even though abuela is replaced by pepa, it still counts - plus, it’s a reference to the 2x03 after-earthquake hospital scene)
• the reappearance of graham (grocery cart cop) from the ā€œwannabesā€ episode - the same episode in which brad/captain banner magically returned to life on the ā€œhot shotsā€ show
there are too many ā€œwhich could mean nothings,ā€ my head is spinning
it’s like the universe is screaming at me… and i’m not refusing to listen to it, actually

okay since this ^ little meltdown earlier, I'm sorta leaning back towards the Alobby train - and I know I'm probably being way too optimistic but it's all just not adding up...
There's so many little coincidences which just wouldn't make sense if he wasn't alive... e.g. the white coat protocol audio (makes zero sense for that bit to be so clear), the whole empty casket plot in 8x16, the two returning characters in 8x17 (both from eps which had a big impact/foreshadowing on Bobby)... I could go on. But there are so many little clues and I don't think all of them would be purely to mock the audience. Then there's that BTS photo of Pete which I know was apparently filmed a while ago, judging from past 9-1-1 TikToks - but I looked back through all of the eps this season and like, there's no reason for a welcome home party at all in any of them, if it is a cut scene; aside from if Madney's baby is born during the season finale, or the Diazs returning to LA for good. And the balloons in that picture match up with the welcome home cake BTS too šŸ‘€ I also find it so weird that Pete has only literally done the one pre-recorded interview and zero press elsewhere. As a lead leaving the show, you'd imagine he'd be doing more press than that, right, particularly when Oliver is out doing a lot of press rn.
Look I could be completely wrong and I probably will be, but I honestly just can't shake a lot of these thoughts. A lot of it just doesn't make sense
Anyway, with Bobby flashbacks being at the start of the last two episodes, I hope that the start of 8x18 is showing him but not as a flashback - butactually alive somewhere. Then the rest of the episode is him trying to get back home to Athena and the 118, which mingles in with the building collapse plot.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk x
I haven’t watched the latest episode with being in the UK and tbh, I’m not planning on doing so and I probably won’t watch the season finale.
I’ll keep following the fandom and socials to see what happens but honestly, this all feels so bittersweet and I can’t enjoy this show without Bobby being there
I’ve been firmly on the Alobby train but now, I’m starting to lose hope… can someone please just give me a sign that he will actually be alive?
I just need the smallest hint from the show that he’s okay šŸ˜”

Tumblr media
The 911 episodes ratings on imdb are sending me.

This is fucking WILD.

the way they had a solid rating across the board and now they have an episode rated 2.2 is insane.

I genuinely hate how much this show has now changed.
Instead of enjoying an episode and being safe in the knowledge that everything will be all okay, we're all just now pissed off, sad and anxious for the next episode.
But we're not supposed to be feeling like this. That was the whole point of the show and why it was so loved; because it is different from your Grey's Anatomy's, your Chicago Fires etc, where main character deaths have been engrained in the show's fabric from the very start.
9-1-1 wasn't like that, and never had been - until now. We liked that it wasn't realistic, that there were all of these wild plots that didn't really make much sense but hey, it was fun to watch!
But now, that has all changed, and I will never, ever understand why Tim Minear thought to change the winning formula of the show, at the peak of its popularity. Why did he feel that he needed to take away an escape from reality for a lot of the audience, when the world is already a steaming pile of shit already?
If he wanted to try something new, try it on your brand new spin-off, where you have a fresh, clean slate! But no, this spin-off is cooked already before it's even gotten going.
All he wanted was to boost his ego and play himself as "God" - when he has done is shatter trust that we had in the show and alienated his audience, mocking us at every opportunity during these last two episodes for caring about his show and its characters.
Imagine having that much disdain for your audience, that the episode that is meant to be about saying goodbye to the heart of the show, is largely taken up by a plot which basically mocks the fans for having hope - so then the actual goodbye is barely even five minutes long.
A TV show - or anything in popular culture - is nothing without its fans, yet this is something that seems to have been forgotten within the 9-1-1 universe - and it's sad to see.

Another thing that is bugging me... is just how out of character like literally everyone was? In fact, how they've all been out of character since 8B came back. It's just been weird. (EDIT: just to add to this too but I rewatched the scene where Athena is halluncinating Bobby and I'm sorry - but some of what Bobby says doesn't really sounds like him at all?! "You knew me. Past tense" like HELLO? would he HONESTLY say something like that to his grieving widow, even if it is said grieving widow imagining it all???) I'm kinda putting this down to god awful writing because it really has taken a turn off a fucking cliff since we came back from the mid-season break... but honestly idk anymore. The whole thing with the empty casket, not getting Bobby back for like 2 weeks and then not actually seeing Bobby's body is giving me like 5% of hope; like it feels that Tim has given himself a way out to bring him back (which ABC will hopefully pressure for :D) But either way, whatever happens, Tim and the other writers/showrunners have fumbled this all so badly. The fact that people are still not convinced that he's actually gone says it all, and now, you just have a severely pissed off fanbase and audience; many of whom are saying that they'll no longer watch, regardless of what happens. Great stuff Tim ahead of your new spin-off launching and season 9 of your OG show!!
