For my photo shoot I did the makeup on my model and chose to do a slip back wet hair look.

Final Garment
I have experimented with my screen print on my garment but I did not like how it looks printed on so I decided to paint it on the frills of the dress.

Toile
This is my toile of my garment but a Thea things will have to be changed before making the final one. Such as the arm hole because it’s too tight so I will have to make that bigger, and also I want to leave the frills hanging odd at the end of the dress.

Final Designs
For my final designs I chose to use a mixture of pro-markers and coloured pencils because I really like how they go together.

Media Experimentation
I have experimented with a variety of media such as pro-markers, collaging, coloured pencils, acrylic paint and water colours. Out of all of these I prefer using pro-markers and pencils as they give the best effect.

Reworking Into My Screen Prints
On my first screen print I decide to add some orange stitches on some of the lines and use brusho inks to fill in the gaps in the wiggly lines. I love the way this turned out because of the contrasting colours, it gives a great look. For the second one I did the hand stitches on some on the wiggly lines to add some texture to it. I also think this turned out good but maybe I should of used a different colour as it does not stand out so well.

Puff Binding
I have also used the puff binding technique on my screen prints and i think they turned out great. I really like the texture it gives and I think it looks really effective.

Screen Print Ideas
I have came up with three screen print ideas using these two corals. For my first screen print I really liked the wiggly lines from the coral, so using tracing paper I traces on top of the sample I created using the hand embroidery technique. The second one I zoomed in on the coral and printed it out so I can trace on top of it and get the same shape. For the third screen print I had the idea to combine these two together so I place the on top of each other and traced over them having the second print in the centre and the wiggly lines around it. I really like the way the first and third print came out, so I think I will be taking those forward and experiment with them.

Sketchbook Development
This is the Gobstopper Zoanthids coral, and to recreate this I did a sample using the reverse applique technique. I have used four different layers of fabric and sewer circles to recreate the shape and also the orange stripes in the middle. After that I started to cut out layers of the fabric leaving the one that I want showing. To finish it off I used a hot glue gun and stuck down some orange long beads.

I have also made a painting of the coral using water colours and a black fine liner pen to add some definition.

Sketchbook Development
I have tried to recreate the shape of the coral by using the gathering technique. First I sewed lines on a piece of fabric without back tacking at the ends of the stitches. After that I secured the threads with pins to make sure they do not coke out while I’m pulling from one side and bringing the fabric in creating those frills. I really like how this turned out but I think it would if had a better effect is I tried to sew in a circular motion, so when pulling the thread the frills would go in a round shape.

For this sample I have used head on top of netting fabric to create a similar effect to this coral. I have also tried layering the netting so they melt into each other. I think this turned out really good and would give a different texture to a garment.

This is called the callyspongia aculeata, commonly known as the branching vase sponge. I decided to recreate this using puff binding. In the first sample I did brush strokes to create lines but still give it that puffy texture and after I used brusho inks on top. On the second sample all I did was dabbing the fabric to create an even puffier effect and went over it with acrylic paint. Comparing these two together I really like the effect the brusho ink gave but the dabbing technique worked better in my opinion. Overall I am really happy with how these samples turned out.
