DADVID WEEK DAY 7: free day!

and finally got an excuse to draw a couple ideas that’ve been in my head for years:

that bit about “sitting the shower for a while” always made me think of bro just sitting in a ball fully clothed contemplating everything (they shoulda made a thing about Max being a bit scared of Harrison for the rest of the show)

had a headcanon for a long time that the raps that Richie Branson wrote for the credits were things Max wrote from his perspective of the episodes & just whatever else would be in his head at the time (kinda like a journal but rap) (and the episodes without richie would be whatever song was stuck in Max’s head all day lol)

Max would ride on David’s shoulders for as long as possible just to get that taste of height that he’ll never have lmao

David would have no idea what that shirt is supposed to mean (like, he knows what the term is, he would just never put 2 and 2 together)

David would totally take Max along for his dates because he knows Max would absolutely ruin a babysitter - David would be trying his best to be kind and focus on his date & Max would just be fucking around at the buffet or making towers out of those butter cup things

Am I the only one who kind of loves quartermaster (camp camp)? Like yeah he has…a few bad traits, but he’s shown genuine care for the kids, and David (who he’s known since David was a child) and Gwen. Idk, I always find quartermaster caring to be sweet.

I think people baby Max (Camp Camp) too much, but I also think people don’t baby him enough. People forget he’s Max, and people also forget he’s 10 years old. No, Max would most likely not cry to David after a nightmare, but he does have a teddy bear and also can’t swim. I don’t know if this makes sense, but my point is he’s still a kid. He does childish things in the show.

THIS IS TOTALLY NOT CANNON AT ALL but imagine how good of a dad to baby Max David would be :( Literally watch cartoons with him every morning and sing him songs and read him bedtime stories, Something I feel 10-year-old Max wouldn't feel so inclined to do.

I don't know if this is weird but I can imagine David being a really young dad, like 20. I don't think he'd be into the idea of having children as much as watching them, purely because so much can go wrong. that parentsday account was talking about this and I so agree, DAVID IS SUCH A GIRL DAD!! I need to draw transfem Max once dadvid week is over.

also, I tried to make this look like an old photo with the really bright flash that goes off beforehand, but I'm not sure you can tell. Either way THIS IS KINDA RUSHED!! I don't have a wholeee lot, but I do have a couple!

After David adopts Max, he sings Love Like You as a lullaby

David LOVES Steven Universe and yaps to Max about it, his fav character is Spinel bc she reminds him of Max

David is an insanely good cook and cooks for Max

David wakes Max up early and Max HATES it

David uses brainrot to try to sound cool to Max but sounds VERY cringy

David does a lot for Max's birthday and Max is spilt between appreciating it, and being embarrassed by it

David proudly talks about Max to other adults and Max hates it because it embrasses him

David (And eventually Gwen) go to every event for Max, which confuses Max, but he still appreciates it, David also takes a lot of pictures and is a very proud dad

another thing I missed about this show is yeah they're ALL shitheads but they also keep each other in check. nikki believes things easily max is a nightmare and neil will instantly let power go to his head. they bail each other out and do not keep up with each other's bullshit. "i wonder if you can go to jail for this" "lying's my thing!"
