On Sunday April 22, my friends and I went on a tour of Richmond. It was very informative as far as historical content, I did not know that Richmond was burned down twice. But, the more impressive thing was all of the murals! They are so modern and gorgeous and they are everywhere. The tour guide, along with my friend who lives out there, told us how the city actually pays multiple artists to make these giant murals but they hardly ever have strict guidelines. I thought about the difference between these murals and the ones I have seen in DC which seem to be more culturally based or politically based.

On Sunday, April 15th my boyfriend and I went to see the new movie A Quiet Place. This movie was pretty good, a few changes to the plot could have made it better I think. I won’t spoil it, but there are definitely some questions left after you watch it. I think one of the biggest things to me about this movie is that it is so dependent on sound and visuals. The dialogue is very minimal, so the sound effects really take over. Its such a change of pace from other movie that are out right now. I recommend this movie to anyone!

Friday March 30th at 7 pm, my friend Emily took me to a pole dancing exercise class. Which was not my usual type of thing, so it was nice to step outside of my comfort zone. Anyways, the instructor was incredible and showed us many dance moves. And after the class she showed us some tricks like standing like that on the chair. Oh and then she did an aerial silk performance for us! It was honestly so cool, I recommend people going to try or just to watch the incredible dancing and prefermance that the instructors put on. I want to Pole Pressure in DC!

Okay, so first I would like to apologize for my picture. I went to the movie, and I didn’t take pictures while I was there because I planned on taking a picture of my ticket. But then I got home and saw I lost my ticket! But I saw A Wrinkle in Time at 6 at the Brandywine Xscape 14 theater. It was an amazing movie. The cast was fantastic and I think I enjoyed it even more since I have read the book. I am definitely a person who likes the movies more than the book, so I will say that this movie was fantastic. I encourage anyone to go see it!

I went to the Hermin Merrill (I’m not sure if that’s spelt right) gallery to see the honor students show, Back and Forth. I thought some of the pieces were a little weird, like the pyramid of heads. But overall I enjoyed it! I really like how it was put on by students and all of the pieces are done by the students.

On December 8, I went to Salisbury University to watch my sisters orchestra performance with my parents. I am actually watching her holiday show tomorrow and wasn’t planning on coming to this show so I think it was a good surprise for her. #CPSA #Performance

On November 25, I went to the Baltimore Aquarium with my boyfriend. We watched a dolphin show which was really cool. I thought this picture of a jellyfish was really nice, I did not get any good pictures from the dolphin show otherwise I would post one of those. I think that the aquarium is really cool and I loved going

On Friday November 3rd, 2017 I went to the Hirshhorn Museum with my dad. I always find this museum to be interesting because the pieces shown are very modern and sometimes kind of twisted. I really liked the Ai Weiwei exhibit. The picture I have shown is all legos!! Completely amazing to have that much patience and talent to create portraits from legos. Would highly recommend to anyone

On October 14, 2017 I went to the Gari Melchers Home and Studio. I thought it was really interesting because this was the home of the artist and his studio, he designed everything himself. All of his original pieces and supplies were still there which was really nice because a traditional art gallery is usually just the pieces in a formal setting but this was his actual house. I thought the pieces were beautiful and I would love to go back one day.

On September 3rd, me and my boyfriend went to see the new movie The Hitman’s Bodyguard. I had slightly higher expectations for the film than what was delivered. Although the movie was funny at times and very interesting to watch, especially during the action scenes, I found the beginning of the film a little slow but it paid off in the end. Ryan Reynolds stars in it so you can’t ask for too much more than that. Would still recommend this movie to someone if they asked about it.

On May 2nd, me and my boyfriend went to the National Zoo. We listened to many different workers talk about the animals. At 10:30, we got to see a naked mole rat very closely. At 11 am, we got to get up close and personal with a crane and see how they live. They were very informative and it was a great live presentation.

On April 7th, I saw Beauty and the Beast at the Xcape Theater in Brandywine. I loved the film; it was so close to the original version as far as the script goes. It’s always been one of my favorite movies so I loved seeing the revamped version. I went with my boyfriend who had never seen the film so it was great to see him enjoy it and discover the movie with me.

On March 18th, I went to the Museum of American Art. I loved these pieces so much, they were very modern and contemporary. Gene Davis was the featured exhibit; most of his work consists of manipulating space by using elongated stripes. The neon United States was my favorite piece of the day. Each state had television screens or speakers playing a movie, a sound, a commercial, a tv show or something that was filmed/developed/created in that state.

On February 16th, I went to the CCC with my friends to watch Ahamefule Oluo perform. We enjoyed pizza while we waited for the band to set up. I personally loved the performance. I am very into jazz music and at the end of the show they did a cover of Creep by Radiohead and it was beautiful. Would love to see them again

This is my favorite picture of myself for a few reasons. I like how clear the water is and how crisp the wave break is. Although I am the center and not following the rule of thirds, the lighting is perfect. The shade from my hat covers my face but does not black out my face, it just darkens it. The clouds are very clear as well and help provide a nice horizon line that also adds depth to the image.
